Introducing Fenty Beauty’s Flypencil Longwear Pencil Eyeliner.
If you are not the kind of person who finds eyeliner easy, meet Fenty Beauty’s Flypencil Longwear Pencil Eyeliner, €20.
I had kind of given up on pencil eyeliners. Liquids are so long-wearing and the brushes are so much easier to attempt winged eyeliner with than pencils, no? Pencils drag, they’re too thick, they don’t look slick enough. If I have enough time to attempt eyeliner, I’m choosing liquid. If I don’t have enough time, no eyeliner for me. Sound familiar?
The day Fenty Beauty’s Flypencil Longwear Pencil Eyeliner launched, I choose the bubblegum pink shade on a whim. I do not wear coloured eyeliner and tend towards the same brown eyeshadow every day, but after a week of watching graphic SS20 couture show beauty looks, I guess I was feeling adventurous.
The first thing you should know is that Fenty Beauty’s Flypencil Longwear Pencil Eyeliner comes in a rainbow of 20 shades. There are colour pops and neutrals, mattes, shimmers, metallics and glitters. There’s a rich navy, luxurious aubergine, electric yellow, retro pink, space-age silver and pure icy white.
The second thing you should know is that the colour is intense. There’s no building up to a bright yellow – as soon as that eyeliner touches your skin, the yellow is as electric on the first swipe as it is on the third. Fenty Beauty Flypencil is the most intensely pigmented eye product I have ever had.
The third thing you should know is that when you try Fenty Beauty Flypencil, you might openly weep. It is just so easy to use.
The first time I swiped it on, I had a perfect pink wing. This has never happened to me. You see, the packaging features a smart triangle shape that makes it easy to hold and control. More importantly, the formula is so creamy and smooth, it glides on. It doesn’t drag or pull. You have time to play with it before it sets, so you can swipe on a clean wing, or smudge it out with a brush or fingertip for a smoky eye.
Eyeliner has never been this simple for me. Seriously, watch how seamless it is in the video below by make-up artist Priscilla Ono.

I’m not even finished fawning yet. Here are more benefits: Flypencil feels completely lightweight on the eyes, lasts perfectly all day, is water-resistant and does not smudge or transfer. It doesn’t end up in a curve on your eye crease by lunch. It stays in place. All day.
Not ready to go right in with a bright blue, yellow or pink eyeliner? Trace above your normal black cat-eye with a brighter colour to add a graphic touch of colour, but trust me, wearing a little bit of coloured eyeliner can change your day as much as wearing a great outfit can.
I just cannot fault the Fenty Beauty Flypencil in any way. It is perfect. Awards must be given.
