Skincare hacks like these sound obvious, but might not necessarily be something you religiously do. Make them part of your daily routine to get the glowy, summer skin you deserve…
There are ways to increase the glow from within instead of just piling on more highlighter (mind you, ain’t nothin’ wrong with some great highlighter).
The 60-second cleanse
The skin genius that is Jennifer Rock once told me that when I’m cleansing, I should be massaging the product in for at least 60 seconds. And do you know what, I always thought I was doing that – until I timed myself.
It’s a bit like brushing your teeth, because it’s not very interesting time goes slowly. Time your cleanse and your skin will reap the benefits. It’s like a mini face massage every day, twice a day, and you’ll notice your skin glowing as a result.
At the moment, I’m using three different cleansers depending on the day – Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil, Dr. Levy 3-Deep Cell Renewal Micro-Resurfacing Cleanser and this, Skingredients Sally Cleanse.

The glow up
You’re going to be using an SPF either way (right? Right??!) so why not get one that adds luminosity to the skin to up the glow ante? This one from Dermalogica delivers a photosensitive ingredient to the skin which boosts the skin’s natural brightness.

The balm tap
Trust me on this. Sometimes after you’ve applied make-up (or even on ‘no make-up’ days) you just want that fresh-from-the-gym glow, that’s not oily or sweaty looking but just healthy. I achieve it with lip balm. Sound mad, but it works.
I apply a little pea-sized amount to my fingertips, rub it in until it’s basically just a sheen on my fingers, and then tap, tap, tap across the high points of my face. It’s not highlighter, so you can’t get it wrong. And it leaves the most believably natural glow you’ll ever see.
