How she does it: Sonia Reynolds’ party-prep beauty tips

Ireland’s glitterati guide to festive glamour.

Want to party like a pro, but feeling a bit low on the wherewithal to get you going and keep you glowing? In the December issue of IMAGE Magazine, on sale now, Melanie Morris checks in with some of Ireland’s most glittering, glamorous gals for tips that will keep you sparkling until the last pine needle drops. Here, Sonia Reynolds, co-founder of Stable of Ireland shares her tips.

EARLY BIRD OR NIGHT OWL? Very much the latter. Ideally, I’d pace myself; however, I’m known to get giddy in certain company.

WHAT DOES YOUR FESTIVE SEASON LOOK LIKE? Well, it’s our busiest time in the business, so my social life is somewhat curtailed. Our shop Stable in the Westbury Mall turns into a bit of a social spot with people dropping in while Christmas shopping, so it’s really sociable.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, €18.50

HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR SKIN LOOKING ITS BEST? Lots of water and good fresh food.

FAVOURITE SKINCARE PRODUCTS? Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish and Modern Botany face oil; I love it so much, I sell it in our shop.

WHO’S IN YOUR GLAM SQUAD? Jenni Crawford in Kazumi is on speed dial if I decide to wear my hair straight; otherwise, it’s curly or in a headscarf, depending on the gig. For make-up, I’ll pop down to Charlotte Tilbury in Brown Thomas. My good friend, make-up artist Nikki Whelan, has moved home, so I’ll also be hitting her up.

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Bronze, €30

WHAT GOES INTO YOUR CLUTCH AT NIGHT? All the above, plus Modern Botany deodorant, keys, phone and cards.

WHICH MAKE-UP BRANDS DO YOU LOVE AND WHAT ARE YOUR HEROES? Bobbi Brown for cream shadow sticks (Violet Plum and Golden Bronze) and eyebrow pencils. I love Charlotte Tilbury and Chanel lipstick.

HAVE YOU A MAGICAL HANGOVER CURE? Always a savoury breakfast with pots of tea. Brunch has to be Dim Sum with green tea, and you can never discount the benefits of a fine Bloody Mary.
