NARS tend to outdo themselves when it comes to collaboration collections. From Charlotte Gainsbourg to the Andy Warhol Foundation, each collection is an ode to a moment; a time (or person) in pop culture that can be respectfully recreated through beauty. And this year, with the release of their Man Ray Holiday Collection, which features limited-edition shades influenced by the electrifying art of the early 20th-century modern master, Man Ray, they have done it again.
Obviously, colour takes centre stage; imaginative palettes of bolds and brights (with the packaging adorned with his iconic black-and-white photography) with something for everyone inside — bright glosses and strong, bold shadows to neutral lipsticks, shimmering highlighters and metallic bronzers. Highlights from the collection include the Love Game Eyeshadow Palette (€49) inspired by the vibrant persona of Man Ray’s muse and the first black model to be featured in a fashion magazine Ady Fidelin, NARS Love Triangles (€22 each and perfect stocking fillers), featuring a miniature lipstick and accompanying blusher and the Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set (€57), which consists of four new shades of their legendary liner in a chic gold cosmetic case. My personal favourites are the Audacious Lipstick Coffrets (€49 each) featuring the award-winning Audacious Lipstick in a gorgeous portable compact of four minis with two new, limited-edition shades.
