If, like us, you’re obsessed with all things skincare – you’ll be dying to hear the results of this year’s IMAGE Beauty Awards. The serum category is one of our personal favourites. While serums can be pricier than other skincare products (such as moisturisers and cleansers) they guarantee enormous benefits. Of course, like all beauty products, some are better than others. A good serum will offer a highly concentrated formula of particular ingredients for a specific skin complaint. Some are for ageing, others for redness or acne. As the ingredients are highly concentrated, a little goes a long way. At the edge of your seat? These are the winners in the serum category
No7 Early Defence Glow Activating Serum, €32
“This is affordable, contains vitamin C and peptides, and is a great one for acne-prone, sensitive and younger skin.”
– Sinead Gallagher
The Burren Perfumery Organic Wild Rose Facial Serum, €36
“These serums are beautifully packaged, add hydration, nourish mature skin, and feel like a real treat. Another fabulous organic Irish product.”
– Rosemary Coleman
Dermalogica Barrier Defence Booster, €79.40
“You can add as many drops of this to whatever you want – your moisturiser or serum, and you can tailor make it to yourself. I love that there’s no fragrance too.”

Avène Hydrance Intense Serum, €26

– Jennifer Rock
Lancôme Advanced Génifique Sensitive Serum, €73
