There’s something intriguingly androgynous about Tom Ford’s collection of fragrances. Each and every one boasts some moody, woody undercurrent while heady, floral notes may dance on top. There’s a darkness to his scents that lure us in time and time again. Of course, parting with €178 for a 50ml bottle of his finest fragrance could only be warranted if they truly delivered, but you can always rest assured that they do. If it’s something sophisticated, grown-up, stylish and mysterious you’re after, you’ve come to the right place.
Today we’re trialling Tom Ford’s Santal Blush and though we sometimes struggle to find ways of describing perfume in other terms than just ‘it smells nice’, this one’s genuinely mesmerizing. Perfect for those who feel woozy at the thought of something overly sweet and fruity, this scent’s masculine edge becomes addictive as the aromas curl around your nose, teasing you with new, undiscovered elements that upon the first whiff, you may have missed.
There’s an oriental tone to Santal Blush. Ford succeeds here in perfectly balancing the spicy, creamy Sandalwood and the sumptuous woods with an array of exotic Eastern spices and some subtle, yet hypnotic florals.
The sensual treat you’ll find here aside, the packaging too is something to behold. While you may revel in budget beauty buys that see you from dawn ’til dusk, there’s something special about owning something that’s been produced with such careful consideration. It’s indulgent, it’s luxurious, and it’s something you deserve.
Don’t skimp on something that adds to your personality and daily style, in the way that your most beloved fragrance will do. You’re worth the treat.
If Santal Blush doesn’t tickle your senses, Fleur De Portofino will.
