If Beyoncé makes a country album, then we're listening to country music. If she's wearing leather chaps and fringed jackets, then we are too. Here's everything you need to get involved in country core, fashion's latest obsession.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen country western fashion motifs make their way back into the mainstream. Sub-categorised under many different umbrellas – from denim to fringing, suede to waistcoats – everyone from supermodel Bella Hadid to king of my heart Harry Styles has embraced the trend, though it’s Beyoncé and her new KNTRY album who has really driven interest in the last few months.

As Harper’s Bazaar so rightly pointed out, fashion’s obsession with cowboy-adjacent aesthetics is far from new, but things have certainly reached a fever pitch as of late. According to @databutmakeitfashion, an Instagram account set on revealing what the stats can tell us about our style choices, searches for “denim on denim” are also up 14% courtesy of Bey’s “Levii’s Jeans” song with Post Malone. Artists like Dolly Parton, Shania Twain and Taylor Swift have also done much to glamourise the trend, proving that cowboy core is, in fact, for everyone.
With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite country western-inspired pieces below.
