Emma McEvoy: A week in my wardrobe

A full-time fashion content creator now based in London, Emma McAvoy — or @emmanoodle as she’s known on Instagram — loves tailored pieces she’ll get plenty of wear out of. An expert at mixing high-street with designer, her outfits are always sleek, put-together and incredibly chic. She shares a week in her wardrobe with us below.

MONDAY

My Monday this week started off with a few press meetings, so I wanted something comfortable yet stylish. I make Canva boards of outfits I want to try and this was on my to-do list. I went for my favourite Frame jeans (the Le Jane Wide Leg) – I’m 5’4 but these jeans make your legs look supermodel long. I like to keep things tonal, especially when I want a professional vibe, so I styled the jeans with this taupe trench from H&M, paired with a matching T-shirt and bag. My trusty Mango boots were the obvious choice for a busy start to the week – I could walk miles in them.

And let me introduce you to my emotional support sunglasses. You’ll see they won’t leave my face most of the week. My toxic trait? Leaving the house in torrential rain but still packing sunnies in my bag – always the optimist!

TUESDAY

Bonjour! We arrived in Paris for a mini city break and some content shooting. I wanted to style a few chocolate-brown outfits, and this was look one. I found a pair of brown Uggs during the week that I couldn’t wait to wear alongside my new suede Demellier bag. I wore a Mango coat, an &Other Stories knit (non-itchy!), and Abercrombie jeans. When I wear oversized pieces, I always go for some waist definition, so I don’t get lost in the clothes. I tucked in the jumper and added a belt to balance the wide legs and oversized coat.

WEDNESDAY

Lunch look! I spent the morning filming some beauty content in the hotel – we stayed at Le Grand Hotel Cayré and the bathrooms were so gorgeous, I had to take advantage. Afterwards, we wanted to grab lunch and do some Fashion Week people-watching. I went for this burgundy faux leather jacket which was an ASOS find with a matching tank and another pair of Abercrombie jeans.

Special mention goes to my Polène Béri bag – I’ve had it for over a year and it’s the perfect black bag. So comfortable and fits all my essentials and the shape of it adds structure to any outfit.

THURSDAY

Back to a grey London, so I dressed to match the mood. I saw Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wearing an oversized washed bomber jacket during Paris Fashion Week, which inspired me to pull out one I’ve had for a few years. Today, I was putting together personal shopping links and pulling outfits to shoot in the studio so I needed something I could run around in. This is also my work bag – the YSL Le 5 à 7 supple – that I invested in a few months ago. It fits my MacBook and more, so it’s the perfect size. For me, designer pieces need to be practical, ensuring I get plenty of wear out of them!

I have also made an executive decision: Uggs are back. My top tip is to put insoles in them with arch support and I promise you will get so much more wear out of them.

FRIDAY

This. Blazer. I don’t think I have ever gotten as many compliments walking down the street as I have for this jacket! It’s a faux suede blazer from H&M that looks so premium. I wore it out for dinner and drinks with the girls.

I find with my style, the main thing I like to focus on is shape. If you scroll back on my Instagram, you’ll see that a midi skirt and tank top is my go-to outfit formula. This look stayed true to my usual silhouette, but the suede texture gave it a fresh, modern twist in my wardrobe.

SATURDAY

Saturdays are for jeans and a nice top. Reformation is my go-to for unique tops for this kind of look. I always find they have such good pieces – and I love how they style them on the models which makes it so easy to envision how I will wear it at home.

These wide-leg jeans are an old favourite from a NAKD fashion collection – a good vibrant blue pair of wide-leg jeans is a must-have in my wardrobe all season long.

SUNDAY

Sunday was all about R&R, so I only left the house to grab a coffee and go for a stroll with my friends. I love the comfort of leggings but sometimes I feel a bit boring when wearing all black – this set from Adanola in the burgundy made me feel in my comfort zone while also looking stylish.

I threw on my wool coat from Mango (bought last year) and it is the cosiest thing – it’s like wearing a hug. Paired with my Adidas SL72s in this cool red colour combo and my Celine Ava bag. This bag is my most worn designer item. It’s grained leather which means it has kept its condition so well – over a year on it’s still like new, even though I wear it most days.
