16 sophisticated cowboy boots we’ll be wearing for SS19

16 sophisticated cowboy boots we’ll be wearing for SS19

Unleash your inner cowgirl with a pair of Wild West-inspired boots. For SS19, Isabel Marant, Fendi and Calvin Klein are calling all cowgirls, offering a range of interpretations from ornamental appliqués, glossy leathers and transparent details.

For a modern approach, play around with colours, textures, fabrics and styling, like an edgy cow-print or snake-effect design. For me, if there’s one feature that dominates all, it’s a hefty toe-cap. I’m obsessed with Zara’s slingback style; perfectly versatile for spring. But if you’re looking to stand out, the unexpected floral embroidery of Valentino’s interpretation (see below) is unapologetically bold and ultra-feminine.

For every high-fashion cowboy boot we’re loving, don’t forget, you can’t go wrong with a classic. For a casual take on the trend, opt for something more low-key like a simple black pair from Maje (see below) and wear them with skinny jeans or a pleated skirt.

Whether you’re gearing towards classic pairs or swapping out neutrals for a splash of colour, shop these fresh takes on the modern cowgirl boot. But avoid other Western elements like fringe jackets – you don’t want to overdo it.
