Finally, the big boob sartorial struggle may be a thing of the past. At last, a retailer has listened to the needs of the well-endowed, and has taken it upon themselves to dress big boobs.
Online retailer ASOS announced yesterday they are launching the ‘ASOS Design fuller bust’ range. The clothes in the collection are specifically designed to fit bra sizes DD-G.
As many women know, modern day clothes are not designed to shape a full decolletage. The fabric is often flimsy, dresses are too low-cut, and white shirts have a habit of appearing like a burst bag of flour.
However, in this new collection, tops are double layered; the dresses are made from material which covers the bust, and support is provided by thicker straps – which actually hide the unwanted peek-a-boo of a bra strap. What’s more, the classic white shirt is made to close and not explode.
ASOS has been designing the range for quite some time, but the sole focus has been on lingerie and swimwear. The brand has been a pioneer in recent times, moving towards a more varied and inclusive fashion landscape with their ASOS Curve collection, as well as their efforts to design clothes with wheelchair users in mind.
This a very welcome addition to the sartorial soiree, and will hopefully be a signal to other outlets to design clothes for a diverse range of body shapes. Kudos to ASOS.
Here are some of our favourite bits from the range:
