Cara Delevingne Leaves Her Modelling Agency

Cara Delevingne, one of the most famous supermodels in the world at the moment, has cut ties with her modeling agency. Cara is undeniably at the height of career at the moment so it’s quite the shock, considering the money she was raking in. However, Cara hasn’t made any secret of the fact that she wants to be an actress, so this move by the 22-year-old is just further evidence of her taking her film ambitions seriously.

Cara’s now-former modeling agency is one of the most famous in the world, Storm Models. And her agent was Sarah Doukas, the woman who spotted Kate Moss. Doukas helped Cara go from ASOS shoots to one of Bulberry’s main models and a Chanel runway regular. Cara quickly stood out among all the other girls backstage – her brows are the stuff of beauty editorial legend and her use of social media is a godsend to online fashion journalists desperate for behind-the-scenes copy during fashion weeks.

Cara is now represented by an acting agent, the Telegraph reports. Which makes sense considering she’s incredibly busy building a strong acting resum?. Her upcoming releases include Paper Towns, Pan, Tulip Fever and London Fields. There is also the superhero movie Suicide Squad on the future summer blockbuster cards.

She has spoken in various interviews about leaving modeling behind. She told the Wall Street Journal she wasn’t a fan of the industry. “It’s horrible living in a world where I’ll get a call from someone saying, so-and-so says you were partying a lot and you were looking this way and you need to lose weight,? she said. ?It makes me so angry. If you don’t want to hire me, don’t hire me.” In Vogue, she graces the cover of the US July issue, she talked about how early on in her career she was ?hit with a massive wave of depression and anxiety and self-hatred.?

We think Cara, while one of the defining faces of her generation, should be applauded for taking a risk when it comes to her career. She’s going after what she wants, instead of taking the safe road. And we’re sure she’ll still be able to keep the dollars rolling in with the odd bit of modelling work.
