Outfit blueprint: How to create a go-to airport look that’s chic AND cosy

Your ticket to reaching your destination in style

Should you peruse geotagged locations for the world’s major airports on Instagram, you’ll notice that the tarmac outside departures is increasingly becoming the new place to showcase your personal style before hopping on a flight.

In short: flawless airport outfits are no longer solely the domain of paparazzi-bait celebrities. Each time I find myself bleary-eyed and searching for coffee at the airport, I inevitably see someone whose travel attire makes it look like they have their life sussed out.

Yet, perhaps nailing an outfit that’s equal parts stylish and practical is not as difficult as blagging your way into first class. After careful consideration, it seems that there’s a formula to it.

Grab your passport, we’ve got you covered:

Approach 1: Flight Suit and an Oversized Holdall

Topshop Cord Boilersuit, €81.57 from ASOS

Customisable Leather Weekender Bag, from €151 from Etsy

Approach 2: Fedora, Boyfriend T-shirt and Leather Leggings

Brown Fedora Hat, €25 from River Island

Basic Oversized Boyfriend T-shirt, €7.50 from Boohoo

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings, €88.87 from Shopbop

Approach 3: Tonal Knit Set and Coat

Knit Sweater and Pants Set, €26.50 from Nasty Gal

Imitation Suede Coat, €79.99 from H&M

Approach 4: Tracksuit, Trainers and an Elegant Bag

x The Fashion Bug Blog Cashmere Lounge Pants, €175 from Lucy Nagle

Nike Air Max 270, €117 from Office

Approach 5: You’re flying private; wear whatever the hell you want!
