9 easy to wear (and easy to get out of) jumpsuits to wear at home over the coming weeks
03rd Apr 2020
Feeling a little trapped with your wardrobe choices at home? Jumpsuits are the perfect one-and-done ensemble
I don’t know about you but I am itching to dress up – and I mean the full hog.
I want to wear a dress, heels, jacket, hat, jewellery, bag and whatever else I can get on my body. The general feeling amongst my friends is that we are starting to feel a little trapped both in life and in our wardrobes. The lounge set and the no bra gets a little tired after a while and my slippers are no longer the safe and soft cocoon they once were.
However, we must follow the guidelines and it seems a few more weeks of social distancing and isolation lie ahead.
When it comes to working from home or being at home for a long period, I am an advocate for dressing up. Even if it is just once a week, it boosts your mood and morale and the tasks of the day don’t seem as terrifying. Many might not agree and may work perfectly well in pyjamas, but I am one of those who needs a little extra push.
Extra push
That extra push this week is a jumpsuit. Now before the rants start about how awkward they are to work with when in the toilet, listen up. You are now in the comfort of your own home which means it does not matter. Jumpsuits are only awkward when you are stressed in the office or after a few glasses of wine and the toilet cubicle feels like it’s closing in on you.
Jumpsuits make the wearer feel put together and chic without the effort, and we certainly don’t need more stress in our lives.
The key with ‘at home’ jumpsuits it to look for loose shapes and easy to wear fabrics. Jersey and cotton styles will be your best friends. Tie-waists are a loving cousin and you can dictate how tight or loose you want them on your body.
Even better, jumpsuits look great with a pair of slippers, meaning you get the best of both worlds. And they are a fantastic option for a Zoom conference call.
Our favourites are the orange cotton dream from COS and the crimson red creation from H&M. Life seems quite dreary at the minute so introduce some colour for a little bit of sartorial sparkle.
