Whether or not you’re a fan of drizzly days, ugly mornings can mean jeopardising your cosy weather style. Maybe it’s just me, or do rain boots ruin most good outfits? I don’t know what it is about them, but I’m pretty sure it’s their extra rubbery rounded toes that are blatantly off-putting. I dread the rain; not because it’s super depressing outside, but because I refuse to wear wellies, I’m usually left with soppy feet. I wouldn’t mind if I was suiting up for a hike up the Sugarloaf mountains or trekking through my local countryside, but more often than not it’s when I’m heading to the office, glam.
After careful research, I’ve determined that rain boots not only include wellies, but leather shoes that have a substantial rubber sole, splash-proof plastic, something with height to avoid puddles, and patent leather boots with wooden heels that aren’t explicitly intended for rain wear. Check out my edit below of eight rain-worthy shoes (none of which compromise on style) and prepare yourself for any of our up-coming rainy days (because there’s a lot!).
