The sun has come out, and so have our toes! Here are five of my favourite sandals for spring/summer.

Texture is so important to an outfit and it can be more difficult to achieve in summer, so these shoes solve several problems in one. Choose a contrasting coloured nail varnish for a real pop.

Gingham is the material of the moment, but how much fresher to wear it on your shoe than on your sleeve? I love these two-tone gingham shoes from River Island. They’ll work with jeans as easily as a skirt. There’s something very retro about an ankle strap too, which ties in nicely with the Brigitte Bardot associations.
