Five ways you can take summer dressing into winter

Wait, hang on. We’ve all spent our hard-earned money on blush pink midi skirts, gorgeous floral dresses, and designer dupe slogan tees. Yet once autumn leaves begin changing colour, we’re all expected to bag em’ up and stow them away for another six months. Doesn’t seem right, does it?

It’s painstaking enough transitioning into crispy weather without worrying about an entirely new wardrobe. Yes, our wonderful Irish summer has tired away, but I’d consider holding on to your warm weather favourites a little while longer. After the sizzling summer we’ve had, what a waste it would be to pack all your fabulous picnic day purchases away in plastic black-sacks and old suitcases. But with an artistic eye and some clever styling tricks, dainty sundresses can be worn all year-round. So grab a pumpkin spice latte because autumn has officially arrived, and it’s more fashionable (and sustainable) than ever.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a lover of wintery weather; but whenever summer comes to an end, I find myself desperately clinging onto the last of lukewarm dressing. But now, it’s almost October (what!?) and nobody wants to prance around with a cool breeze in-between their bare legs – it’s not exactly practical, nor healthy. But bulking up your silky polka-dot maxi dress with a knitted jumper or an oversized coat and printed tights is a genius transition that will save you some pennies and wardrobe space. Plus, it’ll really elevate your street-style cred. Essentially, it’s about keeping enough of you covered. Although, if autumn’s super-sized coats doesn’t exactly tickle you, pair your summery frock with one of this season’s knee-high boots and a super chic transitional trench-coat. Style is all about cleverly combining your winter staples with what you already own. You don’t need to spend an absolute fortune each and every season. All you need to do is simply upgrade your closet with a couple of cosy layers. If you’re still skeptical, check-out how these Instagram superstars brought summer clothes into winter, effortlessly.
