From beach to bar, the straw bag is back in vogue

From beach to bar, the straw bag is back in vogue

If there’s one accessory you need to embrace this season, it’s a straw bag. We’re not talking shabby old beach bags here; this season’s straw bag is undergoing something of a style revolution. With several designers, from Phillip Lim and Michael Kors to Tory Burch sporting the style on their SS runways, the classic beach bag has been upgraded to become your new must-have.

While the weather is still unpredictable, a straw bag is a fun but stylish way of bringing a touch of spring into your wardrobe. This time round, straw bags carry a hint of their 1970s origins – think Jane Birkin with her straw carry-all filled with fresh flowers from a Parisian market on a Sunday morning and you get the vibe. A straw bag is not only versatile – they come in all sizes,  from mini hand-held to oversized tote – but it’s chic too, and thanks to the addition of leather trims and contemporary shapes, straw bags have been brought bang up to date.

White accessories can be tough to pull off, but this H&M raffia shopper is a less daunting option.
