Green queens: 18 forest-hued pieces to have your followers green with envy
14th Aug 2020
Going gaga over green? From olive to sage, we’re stocking up on our greens for the summer
When everything else is closed or restricted, getting out into nature is one of our favourite ways to relax and recharge – oh, and to get some style inspiration. The lush green fields and forests of Ireland have been our view for many weeks now, and as a result, greenery is making its way into our SS20 sartorial mood boards.
Whether it’s Kelly green gingham, a trusty sage green shirt, subdued khaki or loud neon prints, we’re not sure why, but we’re loving green these days. Green, depending on the hue, can be a little bit controversial – there is many a fashionista amongst us who wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole, believing green to be universally unflattering. It must be said, there are a lot of green things that aren’t exactly associated with being sexy or attractive (we’re sure you can figure them out).
But I disagree that green should be banished to the back of the wardrobe. Finding the shade for you is key. If you’re pale, stay away from yellow-undertones in green, and go for a deep emerald or forest shade. Paired with a red lip, it’s a showstopper. If your skin is darker, you can dare to opt for brighter, more acidic-toned greens, that will bounce off your skin tone radiantly.
Whichever green you choose, make sure to have fun with it. Here are some of my favourite pieces I’ve spotted so far.
