Hailing the return of the little black dress

Hailing the return of the little black dress

I’ve been a lover of classic LBDs since the moment I snuck into my first nightclub. Anyone that knows me truly knows how much I love them. There’s one black dress I bought in River Island about five years ago and it’s been my go-to trustee ever since. The dress has seen New Year’s Eve, winter weddings, crazy birthday parties and last minute date nights; it’s both fabulously chic and incredibly comfortable – and honestly, the best €60 I’ve ever spent.

No other colour defines your waist and slims your thighs quite like an LBD; it has been, and always will be, a woman’s wardrobe staple. It’s a classic style that could never be boring, and anyone that tells you otherwise doesn’t know where to shop, or how to style (sorry, not sorry). Sometimes I get easily distracted by colour; bright pink sequinned frocks and embellished florals, but all through my occasion dressing years, it’s the LBD that’s never let me down. Why? Because whether you’re a lover of low necklines, mid-calf lengths, tight-fitting silhouettes, or shorter styles with two delicate black straps, there’s an LBD to suit everyone’s tastes.

So if you’re last-minute shopping for yet another Christmas party, preparing your Stephen’s night ensemble or hunting down you’re next star buy, think about an LBD. You can keep it classy with a bejewelled peep-toe shoe, or sass it up with bold statement earrings. Whatever your style, check out my little black dress edit, below, which will have you sorted for any number of occasions. I may have included two styles from Reformation, but only because it’s my new favourite sustainable brand that I can’t get enough of. Happy shopping.
