This is the Irish model who made waves at Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week brought couture, Chanel, tears from Celine Dion and a young Irish model from Donegal causing quite a stir.

Life is fluid; it can change in an instant, or as the case of 19-year-old Ferdia Gallagher, in just a few months. Featured in Nylon magazine and walking the catwalk for Heidi Slimane after a move to Paris, the teen had been working in his aunt’s paper shop in Ireland for six months when he decided to go to the French capital to pursue a full-time career in the industry.

One to watch

Further cementing his status on the high fashion circuit is a recent feature in i-D Magazine as one of the standout male models of fashion week.

Describing the 6ft 2in Donegal native as the teen with “a flash of violent ginger hair and a sullen, sharp jawline that could slice every one of your fingers off,” and judging from his stylised Instagram feed (with 15 thousand followers, no less), it’s no surprise that he looks right at home on the catwalk in an exclusive appearance for Celine.

Ever humble, he thanked the designer for “having him” in the show.

”I’ve always been interested in fashion, so [walking for Celine] is really exciting to me!” he told i-D. “To be a part of the industry now just feels surreal.”

And we’re not the only ones highly impressed, i-D magazine said the model caught everyone’s attention. “[He] has had casting directors asking “Who’s that bloke?”

The next big thing we reckon.
