It looks like T-shirt weather has finally arrived… Here’s seven of the best tees to add to your wish list

It looks like T-shirt weather has finally arrived… Here’s seven of the best tees to add to your wish list

Two weeks ago we were still wearing sweaters, now it’s getting so muggy outside, a blouse is beginning to feel claustrophobic. It’s officially T-shirt time. Far from being a fashion opt-out, a T-shirt is a cool and understated way to balance out florals, tone down tailoring and add ease to smart separates. T-shirts can make pretty dresses look urban simply by virtue of their utilitarian associations and they dampen down metallics enough to leave them suitable for coffee as much as clubbing. Print and slogan tees are the perfect way to add personality to your wardrobe and character to an outfit. Here’s seven to try now.

Given the week that’s in it, this tee resonates strongly with me. I love that such a strong message has been written in pink; there’s nothing fluffy about this top.

I Am T-shirt, Chinti & Parker, €125 at farfetch.com

A simple T-shirt is given cocktail wear-worthy status via a tie-front bra top. This is a wear-anywhere piece that will bring uniqueness to even the quietest separates.

Layered tie-front top, MSGM, €185 at net-a-porter.com

I love this vivid illustration. It’s fun and it’s fashiony. Perfect for summer.

Girl print tee, €9.95 at Zara

Embellished with daisies on each shoulder, this pretty tee looks so fresh and summery without being at all fussy or girly.

White embroidered top, €77 (reduced from €110) at bimbaylola.com

Rainbow stripes and a Happiness slogan… what’s not to like? Pair this top with summer’s pastel tailoring to add a bit of punch to the look.

Happiness tee, Tee & Cake, €32 at topshop.com

Cos always adds a point of difference to an otherwise simple piece. The gathered detailing on this top is feminine and a more modern take on traditional ruffles.

Gathered T-shirt, €69 at Cos

There was a lot of bamboo print on the catwalk for SS18, so I’ll be adding this gorgeous tee to my summer capsule wardrobe. Great for wearing on holidays or at weekends, it will add a fresh summer feel to any outfit.
