Love Jacquemus? Here’s how to get the look of the moment on a budget

In celebration of his label’s tenth year, Simon Porte Jacquemus staged the ultimate ode to both his millennial fan base and his native country France.

The designer sent 65 looks down an impossibly picturesque runway in Provence, heralding the arrival of next season’s must-haves (think tiny bags and even more pink gingham) in the process.

Let me just state two things before we go any further: The Frenchman, who has been credited with bringing a much-needed fresh and youthful aesthetic to Paris Fashion Week, is self-taught and was merely 19-years-old when he launched his label.

There’s no such thing as an overnight success, especially in fashion, so it’s no surprise that the brand is only really coming to the fore since the Spring Summer 2018 collection was picked up by e-commerce giants such as Net-A-Porter and Moda Operandi.

Having gone from strength to strength, thanks to high profile fans and major fashion moments (last season’s giant raffia bag Le Grande Baci gets an honourable mention here), this week’s anniversary show showed that there’s nothing stopping the brand in its ascent to the top.
