I have a lot of time for Karlie Kloss. She seems very down-to-earth in her YouTube videos, supports her friends slash squad, and does a lot of good when it comes to encouraging young women to pursue a career in STEM. She started at NYU last year and is the queen bee of balance. She also appears to enjoy her job as one of the world’s most in-demand models.
Here are some of her best moments from this year’s first NYFW, prepare for the DVF fabulousness.
In my judgmental opinion, the Diane Von Furstenberg presentation was the best show of New York Fashion Week. The dresses were dripping in powerful sensuality, the models were let have fun, and Karlie’s hair and make-up was perfect. Those smokey lids! That plunging vee! THE HAIR! All of it made me think yet again that we need a HBO series about the 1970s New York modelling scene.
I love behind-the-scenes beauty shots because we sometimes get a glimpse of what a model wears when she’s not being showcased to all and sundry. Here Karlie keeps it classy with a black polo. Also, brow fact – Karlie once said in an interview that Pat McGrath advised her regarding her eyebrow shape. Beautiful things happen when women collaborate.
Was there ever a more appropriate woman for a Ralph Lauren show? I love Karlie’s hair here. You know what whatever dry shampoo or serum was used is good. Also, I would like to see a return of beige in general. It is very distracting to wear black opaques with navy.
This is what I imagine Hillary should wear if she’s inaugurated.
Carolina Herrera’s gowns always make me think subdued IRL Gossip Girl. Can you imagine the stories mild-mannered Karlie carries around in her mental inbox?
This dress is beautiful and if Karlie brings back Mona Lisa Smile style, fair play to her.
Adored this pared back beauty look. Sometimes I wish beauty trends became more ‘clean’.
However, I find this look from the Jeremy Scott runway very charming. Very into the hot pink, love the aqua slick, fembot hair is amazing.
This ensemble makes us wish we had a colour that wasn’t wan Victorian heroine.
Gravity-defying side shot.
