Biker boots are back, baby. No more teetering around in neutral courts or crying over destroyed white patents, because this season, it’s all about the studded black boot.
Weather-wise, so far we’ve been lucky; January hasn’t seen milder days. But if Met Éireann has anything to say about it, we should be preparing for late wintry showers and seriously cold snaps. There’s nothing good about winter after January; nothing to look forward to, except good fashion, of course. In Ireland, it would only be downright dumb to fight against nature with inadequate footwear and soggy socks, so I recently bought a pair of biker boots, and honestly, you should too.
From Kurt Geiger, Topshop and Stradivarius, to quilted versions at Valentino, I’m swooning over the endless amounts of studded street-stoppers out right now. If you buy a good pair, it can be styled all year-round, no matter the weather. When Spring arrives, try a midi-length skirt or ruffled dress with them. If flat styles look too tough for you, girly it up with a studded statement heel instead. I’ll take one of each, please.
Since winter is going nowhere, and we may or may not be anticipating snow (if we’re honest, it’ll be more rain), here are nine pairs to shop right now – no matter what style you prefer.
