The Best Looks From The Billboard ‘Women In Music’ Awards

Awards season has officially kicked off with the Golden Globes nominations announced this week, but if you can’t wait until early next year for some red carpet glamour, you’re in luck. Tonight, an array of inspirational women from the music industry stepped out to receive deserving accolades for their work over the past 12 months and more than a few wowed on the red carpet. The star-studded affair veered more on the casual side of things, with black being prominent with splashes of colour and white silk thrown into the mix. Style stars like Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, and Ciara brought their fashion A-game with stunning ensembles combining festive embellishments, luxe fabrics, and bold prints. The web is divided on Gaga’s stunning silk number, but she pulls it off as only she knows how and looks incredible (though we bet she was freezing!). Petite pop singer Selena Gomez also wowed in a jewel-encrusted, feather-adorned mini dress while Lana Del Ray looked effortlessly chic dressed head-to-toe in black.

It was Gaga’s night as she was honoured with the? Woman of the Year award from Billboard, and after accepting, she described how it’s “really hard sometimes for women in music. It’s like a f**king boys club that we just can’t get into.”

“Women provide wisdom to music that is unique and special,” she said. “It is a perspective no one else can have because we bear life. And because we go through things no one else goes through. And because it’s right. Because we’re all equal.”

Here are some of the standout looks from the night:
