Love it or loathe it, white denim (and specifically the iconic white denim minis of the 80s) are making a comeback for SS19.
With the launch of her new line Fenty, Rihanna recently made history by becoming the first black woman to lead a fashion brand owned by the luxury conglomerate LVMH.
The singer’s innovative style knows no bounds, so it’s little surprise that one of the pieces from her debut collection is already inspiring others.
A little bit retro, with a whole lot of streetwear cred: the white denim mini dress has found a fan in Bella Hadid. Hadid’s super-stylist Mimi Cuttrell opted to play up the 1980s vibe by styling the look with fluoro pointed shoes, a diamanté initial necklace and mirrored perspex shades.
Granted, white skinny jeans have long had a special place in the hearts of Irish women come summertime, but there’s something a lot more wearable about a white denim dress (if you’re among the 99% of females who have cellulite, you’ll hear me on this one.)
In fact, when it comes to a capsule spring summer wardrobe, there’s abundant potential to wear this hero piece several ways throughout the season. Add a black fedora, fringed bag and biker boots and you’re festival ready, while pairing it with barely-there heels and a clutch will have you sorted for a night out in a flash.
