Get swept away for a few minutes to the French Riveria with the new H&M Conscious Collection
Let’s just take a moment to stop panicking about Coronavirus. Let’s stop obsessing over the news alerts and the 24-hour news cycle.
And let’s get lost in some beautiful clothing. It may be hard to imagine yourself sitting beneath the sun near the French Riveria, but H&M’s newest compilation might just help.
H&M are experts at creating one of a kind collections from its designer collaboration to its Studio offering. Now, the H&M Conscious Collection is taking centre stage with its SS20 design extravaganza.
The Conscious Collection is H&M’s premium womenswear compilation of elevated pieces that are made from sustainably sourced materials and using sustainable processes. It was first launched in 2012 and since then has been a fashion must-have.
This season’s assemblage is a homage to the glamour of the Golden Age of train travel, specifically Le Train Bleu, the elegant sleeper train that ran from Calais to the Côte d’Azur in the 1920s. From flamboyant evening gowns to mosaic print day dresses, it is the SS20 fashion we want to be seen in.
Feminine
The collection is overtly feminine with frills on tops and dresses and balletic silhouettes. The classic stripes of the French Riveria make an appearance in fitted tops and flared dresses. While white remains classic and cool in summer in airy shirts and bow dresses.
Glamorous occasions require captivating accessories and the collection is filled with covetable treasures. Coral motifs take pride of place on recycled brass and zinc in the form of statement earrings and cocktail rings, while they dot the surface of padded hairbands and delicate shoulder pieces. Round sunglasses, pouch bags, embellished flats and sexy strappy sandals finish off a stellar accessories offering.
With sustainability at its core, the collection features materials such as CIRCULOSE, a natural material produced from recycled textiles and RENUTM, a high-quality recycled polyester. Leftover materials from older collections have also been used.
Ann-Sofie Johannsson, creative advisor at H&M said of the collection: “For SS20, the Conscious Exclusive design team took a truly holistic approach to sustainability, considering the emotional durability and the afterlife of the garments in more detail than ever before.”
The SS20 Conscious Exclusive Collection will be sold in selected stores and online from March 26.
