From cigarette pants and a slim jacket to cropped velvet smoking jackets and sequin flares, suits are offering a little something extra for modern brides. If you’re planning your big day in the near future and looking for an alternative to a traditional wedding dress, try these female-focused power suits on for size.
Rosa Copado is one-half of the duo that makes up Spanish-based Oteyza Tailoring. Together with her business partner and husband Paul Garcia, the pair create exquisite unisex made-to-measure suits designed with elements of traditional Spanish tailoring and modern engineering. The final product is bold yet romantic. Oteyza offers bespoke tailoring experiences at their tailoring academy and shop in Madrid, so it’s an excuse for a quick rendezvous, too.
Joshua Kane Bespoke
Hailed as fashions new prodigy, British womenswear and menswear designer Joshua Kane is going from strength-to-strength after the success of his first studio space in London three years ago. Having previously worked at Paul Smith, Jaeger and Burberry Prorsum, Kane has a pedantic eye for detailing; especially in his tailoring. ‘The Audrey’, below, is a made-to-order baby pink suit inspired by the 1920’s era and boasts stunning details like super wide lapels, a dramatic belt. This is a suit that any tailoring connoisseur would be proud to wear walking down the aisle.

Isabel Marant Tailoring
Thanks to Bianca Jagger, the pantsuit was the cool-girl’s evening-wear of choice in the ’70s – this one by Isabel Marant will be fit for a Studio 54 party when styled with the matching jacket. Made from silver textured-lamé, they have a cropped straight-leg cut and sharply pressed creases for subtle definition.
