“If designers are betting on sparkle for evening, they are even more certain that plumage is right for daily life,” or so reads Vogue’s Resort 2022 runway trend guide. You might have noticed, but feather-trim clothing has been everywhere this season.
A surefire way to add some fun (and a touch of sex appeal) to an outfit, feathers have become as much a part of festive dressing as our beloved sequins, so, expect to see much more of them in the weeks to come… and they’re no longer reserved for just fancy attire either with everything from casual cardigans to pyjamas now available with some glitzy coloured plumage.
Most of the top luxury brands, including Dior, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, and The Attico, have been incorporating the statement trend into their designs, as have the high street shops who certainly know how to cater to a trend.
Our advice? Embrace the ‘more is more’ mentality and lean into the extravagance. Pile on the sequins and sparkly earrings and feathers, for if you can’t do it at Christmas, when can you?!
