Looking for something a little different out of your wedding venue? This relaxed setting marries personalised details with modern comforts seamlessly, and makes sure every couple gets exactly what they want out of their big day.
As we know, choosing your venue is one of the first and most important things on your to-do list when planning a wedding — so you’re going to want to make sure you get it right.
If you and your other half are after something a little bit different and truly unique to you, Horetown House should absolutely be on your radar. Providing a stylish venue for country house weddings since 2009, this family-run business stands out from the crowd by offering a personalised, relaxed and friendly experience in a historic venue, while focussing on local food and sustainability practices.
A sustainable and ethical venue putting a focus on maximising joy and minimising stress, Horetown House’s hire fee includes wedding planning and coordination, decor, and styling. They supply wildflowers from their gardens, prepare menus with local produce made by Ballymaloe-trained chefs, and plan every detail in line with your own personal motif and colour scheme. A team you can place your trust in, Horetown House focuses on the tiniest details to make sure your whole event comes together and flows effortlessly from start to finish.
Set amongst the rolling hills in the heart of rural Wexford, this charming country house will be exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. With no minimum party size and the ability to accommodate as many as 200 guests for dinner in The Garden Room and 140 in the White Room, wedding coordinators Kate and Niamh are a mother-daughter duo that make it their business to keep things running smoothly.
Set across three floors with a hidden cellar bar and a stunning event space, Horetown House boasts a number of beautiful Georgian reception rooms, each of which can be decorated as you desire. The Garden Room is the newest part of the house and is home to an indoor pole tent, a full bar, wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, heating, air conditioning and a built-in sound system.
Praised for their ‘home away from home’ atmosphere, a wedding at this venue encompasses everything from delicious food, bedrooms and Shepherds huts, to a fully licensed pub in the cellar. With ten, individually-styled bedrooms available for accommodation with space for up to 24 adults, an additional 20 Shepherds huts to accommodate a further 40 guests and nearby hotels and B&Bs for any overflow, your whole party will be taken care of on the night of your celebration.
A wedding is not complete without a delicious feast for guests to enjoy, and at Horetown House, you and your guests will be well catered for. In addition to wedding reception catering, they can also supply food for the duration of the weekend, ranging from casual day-two BBQs to ‘Midnight Munchies’ snacks to sustain the dancing and celebrations into the night.
Other quirky wedding catering options include ‘The Van’, where your guests can enjoy festival-style service from their vintage VW camper van on sunny days or delivered to guests in vintage wooden crates on wet days. There’s also the ‘Ice Cream Van’ that can be arranged to serve delicious ice cream to guests outside. A popular option for winter weddings is the ‘Winter Buffet’ where hot dishes are served by staff in the White Room.
For couples dreaming of an outdoor wedding, Horetown House has a number of outdoor spaces to accommodate wedding ceremonies and blessings depending on the number of guests. With ten acres of romantic gardens and sprawling parklands, it is a wonderful setting for those seeking a more natural wedding in Ireland.
Located in the grounds are the remnants of the old walled garden and this space is popular with couples seeking a romantic setting for an outdoor wedding, civil ceremony or blessing. The couple approaches the area via a gravel path planted with lavender. The original walls of the garden are the backdrop to the area and there is a raised site where the couple and celebrant can stand. Guests can be seated in the area on wooden benches.
There are plenty of idyllic settings for a wedding, both indoor and outdoor, at Horetown House, whether you choose to marry in one of their Georgian rooms or under the clusters of picturesque trees on the estate.
