Ingrid Hoey: ‘This serum reversed visible signs of sun damage on my skin’
Irish fashion stylist Ingrid Hoey is trialling out some new serums and SPFs, and she's just found her favourites...
As someone who has been working in the fashion industry for years, Ingrid Hoey is keenly aware of the importance of good skincare as the foundation for a successful shoot. Endeavouring to make clients and models look and feel like the best version of themselves requires collaboration across the fashion, hair, and make-up teams, and when it all comes together, it’s magic.
Having admitted to neglecting SPF as an essential part of her skincare routine in her younger years, Ingrid is on a mission to find the products to suit and enhance her skin, which is why she’s been trialling the No7 Future Renew Damage Reversal range for the past four weeks now.
The range is clinically proven to reverse visible signs of skin damage*, and the new addition of No7 Future Renew Daily Defence Shield SPF50 adds an extra layer of protection (literally), as it helps protect against visible signs of skin damage caused by the sun**.
Read on for Ingrid’s review below…
As a well-known fashion stylist, how much does your job involve beauty? Would both worlds often intertwine?
My worlds of fashion and beauty are so intertwined, particularly when it involves preparing my clients for red carpet events, shoots, television appearances — it becomes a collaboration between my client, myself, and hair and make-up to ensure they look and feel the best version of themselves.
What beauty essential can you not live without at the moment?
Am I allowed to say a few? Definitely eye cream, mascara and SPF!
What skincare type would you say you have? Are there any skincare issues you’re struggling with at the moment?
Overall, I think I have a pretty normal skin type. I’m very lucky my mum has good skin too, so I’ve got some great genes on my side. I have struggled with pigmentation ever since I was pregnant with my daughters Freya and Milla. I guess it was due to the fact I didn’t use sunscreen on my face in my younger years, now SPF 50 is a daily part of my skincare routine.
Tell us about the No7 Future Renew Damage Reversal range. What results have you seen since you’ve started using it?
I started using the No7 Future Renew Damage Reversal Range over four weeks ago. I’m SO happy with the results; the biggest improvement I have noticed is the reversal in the appearance of uneven texture and tone, which is my main skin concern.
What’s your favourite product in the range?
I am totally and utterly obsessed with the No7 Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum, it’s a little piece of magic in my opinion. It feels super lightweight and your skin feels hydrated from the first use.
The No7 Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum is proven to reverse visible signs of skin damage and sun damage**. Have you noticed this with your own skin after using this product?
Absolutely, I’ve seen a reversal in the appearance of uneven skin tone, which I am thrilled about. I’ve also noticed that it plumps the appearance of fine lines.
What’s your favourite part about the new No7 Future Renew Damage Protection Defence Shield SPF50? How does it hold up in comparison to other SPFs you’ve tried?
SPF is such an important part of my skincare routine; I apply it every morning before I put any make-up on. What I love about the No7 Future Renew Damage Protection Defence Shield is that it is SPF50, it’s hydrating and it’s lightweight with an invisible finish.
*Consumer study. Users saw a reversal in appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, uneven tone and texture, dryness and feel of lost elasticity.
