Some people watch 'And Just Like That' for the nostalgia. Most watch for the plotline. Everyone watches for the fashion.
Sex and the City and the subsequent reboot, And Just Like That, is as much about the fashion as it is the storylines and characters. In fact, for many viewers, the style is actually the most important aspect of all.
Revered as one of the great fashionistas of her time, Carrie Bradshaw has quite an eclectic taste, to say the least. Her oversized flower brooches and poofy tulle skirt/sweater combos definitely aren’t for everyone, but what Patricia Field, and now Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, have managed to achieve through the show’s wardrobe actually goes far beyond fashion.
Essentially what it all boils down to is freedom of expression. The series is responsible for inspiring generations of women (and men!) to embrace the colour and individuality that wearing what you want, when you want to wear it allows. Carrie was never one to follow antiquated fashion rules and though her ensembles are probably not as wearable IRL as she makes them seem, she – and her friends – made it ok to be different. And that is most certainly something to be celebrated.

Below are some of our favourite And Just Like That looks and where to find similar versions of ’em.
Carrie’s chainmail bag
In the first episode of the reboot, Carrie can be seen with not one but two crossbody bags when she’s out to lunch with Charlotte and Miranda… which would make you wonder whether the vintage Lewis she clutches to her is functional or just purely for aesthetics. Not that it really matters to us either way – we love it regardless.
Miranda’s LBD
While the occasion that called for such a dress was not the glamorous debut it deserved, Miranda really hit it out of the park with the LBD she chose for Big’s funeral. Tailored to perfection, the whole look just worked.

Charlotte’s white poplin top
Charlotte and preppiness go hand in hand and this white poplin top is the epitome of that. A staple in any wardrobe, it’s work-appropriate but can be dressed up with a touch of red lipstick and some statement bling too.

Carrie’s platform heels
This look caused quite a debacle online but while everyone else was debating whether her dress was from Forever21 or not, we were busy looking at the shoes. If there’s anyone we can trust to always wear a stellar shoe, it’s Carrie Bradshaw (let’s just forget she admitted to owning a pair of Toms).
