Everywhere Lana Del Rey visited on her vintage shopping tour of Dublin

Everywhere Lana Del Rey visited on her vintage shopping tour of Dublin

Not only is Lana Del Rey a sustainable queen, but she somehow knew all the best local spots to shop vintage in Dublin.

I know, I know. Life isn’t fair because Lana Del Rey was spotted on a vintage shopping trail of Dublin on the one day you weren’t frequenting those very same spots. It stings. But it has to be said, the girl’s got taste.

For those who may be otherwise unaware, the singer was so enamoured with Europe after playing at Glastonbury that she announced an incredible last minute gig at the 3Arena with just ten day’s notice. Playing Dublin’s 3Arena on Friday 7 July, she’ll be heading to London on Sunday 9 July, and over to Paris on Monday.

So, while she was in the area, she did as locals do: she scoped out the best of the Dublin vintage shopping scene. From newly opened spots to more established names in the Irish pre-loved fashion game, whoever planned her route deserves a raise. Or at the very least, a loan of the not-for-sale Harley Davidson archived jacket.

Let’s get into where she went…

Nine Crows

No doubt still reeling from the excitement of having Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly swing by last October, the team at Nine Crows were left star-struck once again when Lana rocked up the afternoon before her gig.

Word on the street is, Lana was so charmed by the staff that she went the extra mile to take names and sort each of them with a ticket for her 3Arena show. Yes, I know, the envy is almost too much. Good for them!

Thirty Five Vintage

One week on from their official launch party, Thirty Five Vintage are the newest gem in Dublin’s pre-loved shopping crown. Having owned and operated their sister store in Mayo and online shop for quite a while now, they thought it was only fair that they bring their incredible offering to the big smoke, and that bright orange facade must have caught Lana’s eye, because she was straight in.

Taking to Instagram, Thirty Five Vintage owner Cian revealed that she didn’t actually recognise the iconic singer-songwriter. Regardless, he spend some time chatting to her crew and her father (“random old American dude”), and when it became clear he wasn’t picking up that it was actually her concert that they were in town for, her dad said that he must be the only person in Dublin who didn’t recognise her.

With the excitement still lingering on in the air, they’re offering 10% off for anyone who’s going to the gig for one day only, so get in there ASAP.

LOOT

From the people that brought us Reverie and Heritage Vintage, LOOT is a vintage concept store that is an absolute treasure trove of incredible vintage gems. Lana rocked up sporting her new Harley Davidson jacket from Thirty Five, and a Nascar cap in what was perhaps an unsuccessful attempt at going incognito.

Making time for photos and chats with the staff, Lana even ended up twinning with one of the girls in the store, who was also rocking a HD orange and black fit.

Big Smoke Vintage

Last but not least, Lana made time to swing by another new vintage store on Merchant’s Arch, Big Smoke Vintage. Posting a photo on Instagram, the store wrote: “An actual angel visited us today and left with tonnes of gorg bits!!! We are obsessed! Lana was the sweetest person ever plus she invited us to her show tomorrow!! Shooketh! Also apologies for terris peace fingers he panicked.”

We would also have pulled up a panicked peace sign, given the circumstances. Now, all we need is for Lana to open up her private Instagram account and give us the haul we deserve.

There’s clearly something in the water, and the most fashion-forward celebs seem to have a certain knack for sniffing out some top notch vintage. In fact, back in April, the Paramore crew made a pit stop at TOLA Vintage ahead of their 3Arena gig, and if the Instagram posts are anything to go by, it looks like they put in a good shift behind the register. No doubt logging stock and preparing orders, all round earning their keep.

Where the big-name celebrity visit was once characterised by trips to the Guinness storehouse, these days, it’s all about squeezing in some time to shop vintage.
