Laura Jordan is the founder of style and image consultancy, StyleSavvy. Specialising in personal styling and corporate seminars, she tends to favour tailored pieces she can move around in... though she does love a pair of heels when not working! Here she shares a week in her wardrobe.
MONDAY
My week usually kicks off with meetings with our marketing manager Una and stylist Leah, when we go through our targets and actionables for the week. Today I also had a coffee meeting with a corporate client, so I am in a full tailored look. This is no longer a workwear requirement, but if I am advising a company on dress code, or image and brand, I like to dress smartly. My blazer, blouse and trousers are from Mint Velvet. I love their workwear. This bag is from the store as well, I would bring my Prada tote when I need my laptop with me.
TUESDAY
Today is more casual as I am shopping with a client. We are in and out of stores and changing rooms in a shopping centre, so the fewer layers, the better. I like Cos for light, tailored layers; my tee and trousers are from there. My sunglasses are Celine and my trainers are Golden Goose. They are my favourite brand for a mix of comfort and style; two essential components when you’re on your feet for three hours at a time. I carry a small tote or cross body, this is a Louis Vuitton clutch that came with my Neverfull. My jewellery is Betty and Biddy, I love their pieces.
WEDNESDAY
Evening events are a part of my job; it’s very social and there is nothing like a fashion show to inspire and excite. My denim jacket is from Zara, I bought my trousers in Topshop on Oxford Street at least seven years ago and my heels are Greene’s Shoes. My Chanel bag was bought on Vestiaire Collective, which is my favourite website.
THURSDAY
Today it was time for a corporate seminar in an investment bank. This is my favourite way to spend a workday. It is a chance to speak on the importance of image and brand and explore the elements of motivation in the workplace. I enjoy keeping up to date with changing trends and behaviours in the industry. My outfit for this event was a blouse from On Trend, my belt is Dior, bought in Cobbler’s Wardrobe consignment store in Sandymount, the trousers are from Cos – I bought them in their summer sale – and my boots are by Bourbon Footwear. My glasses are Tom Ford from NCBI Retail on eBay. My optician, KeenSight in Cornelscourt, added my prescription lenses. My bag is Prada.
FRIDAY
Fridays are typically busy days for personal shopping appointments. We have over 400 clients at StyleSavvy®, so I try to average 25-30 in-person appointments per month, with another 10-15 online. Leah Kenny who works with me, will take another 15 in-person sessions. These days are full-on and there is lots of moving and reaching, so I am always more casual than I would be for seminars or meetings. I am wearing a soft grey jumper from Zara, jeans from River Island, which are about seven years old (if I see something similar, I will get three pairs of them!) and new boots from Zara; these are old stock and are very comfortable. They work well to elevate a jumper and jeans. My necklace is a star sign pendant from Ti Sento.
SATURDAY
This was a glam Saturday night look for my friend’s birthday party in town. The blazer is Mint Velvet (repurposed from Monday), my top is from Zara which I bought for €13 in Spain while I was on holiday and the skirt is Bershka. These shoes are my absolute pride and joy – they’re from the incomparable Topshop, from 2015. My bag is a Chanel wallet on a chain, from Vestiaire Collective.
SUNDAY
It was a cold and rainy day, so I wrapped up to meet a friend for lunch. My jumper is from H&M. Today I paired it with a Zara bodysuit underneath. My jeans are the boyfriend slims from Zara and the boots are currently in H&M also. I finished the look with my trusty Prada bag for practicality and a bangle from Zara.
