From vintage to high street and more up-market designer finds, influencer and stylist Lorna Spaine loves mixing it up and putting her own signature twist on current trends. Here she shares a week in her wardrobe.
MONDAY
Monday was an office day for me, I popped into town for a meeting with one of the brands I work with. I paired this asymmetric dress from COS over a pair of straight-legged grey slacks and finished the look with black pointed-toe heels. I see a lot of people really hating on Y2K being back and the rise of the skirt-over-trousers trend, but personally, I love it! Layering one piece over the other adds so much dimension to an outfit – it looks so chic.
TUESDAY
Today I was running errands, pulling looks for an upcoming shoot and also doing a bit of shopping. This black blazer I’m wearing is probably the most sentimental piece in my wardrobe because it actually used to be my dad’s. It reminds me of him, so I wear it all the time. It also just so happens to be the perfect chic oversized fit for a woman. Today I paired it with a baggy white T-shirt from Stussy, straight-legged jeans, cowboy boots and a vintage maroon clutch bag that I thrifted.
WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday I attended an awards launch night, and to my surprise, I found out I was nominated which was amazing! I wore a grey high-neck combat mini dress from Zara and paired it with a pleated maxi skirt underneath. For accessories, one of my all-time favourite re-emerging trends is chunky silver jewellery – liquid metal rings and large chunky silver cuffs are my absolute go-to accessories at the moment.
THURSDAY
Today I wore this cream satin dress with a T-shirt layered on top. I love the juxtaposition of wearing an oversized men’s T-shirt with a flowy feminine skirt. I think the contrast of the two looks so good together. I teamed it with a little ballet flat making it so comfortable to stroll around in all day. The T-shirt is from the Drake X Nike Certified Lover Boy collection and the skirt is actually a beautiful formal drop waist dress I purchased from ASOS. It’s such a beautiful dress and I thought it was such a shame that I wouldn’t get many settings to wear it to so I wanted to find a way to dress it down and get more use out of it.
FRIDAY
On Friday you will usually catch me at some sort of PR event like this beautiful lunch hosted by Zadig & Voltaire in The Marker Hotel. This whole outfit is from Zara. I got it at the very last minute the night before the lunch, and it’s actually one of my favourite summer looks. I love the pieces paired together but they’re also great statement pieces when worn individually. The silver pumps are probably my most worn shoes this season. I love dressing them up with a chic maxi skirt like this, wearing them with a straight-legged jean for a casual date night, or even throwing them on with a pantsuit to add a bold statement for work.
SATURDAY
On Saturdays I love winding down and catching up with my friends so you’ll usually catch me out in town trying somewhere new to eat or going for cocktails with the girls. I wore my dad’s blazer again paired with a matching black waistcoat, black slacks and heels. I love wearing oversized suits. I get so much wear out of each of these pieces whether it’s for a night out or going to work – they’re all so versatile individually.
SUNDAY
I had a nice quiet day today with my boyfriend. I wore this beautiful embroidered navy and cream waistcoat, Miu Miu sunnies, straight-legged jeans and ballet flats. This is my perfect outfit for an iced coffee and a sunny stroll on a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
