Makeup artist Elaine Cruz shares the skincare products she can’t live without

When it comes to skincare, we all want results. Here makeup artist Elaine Cruz shares how the No7 Future Renew range has improved her skin.

With a busy lifestyle, top makeup artist Elaine Cruz (aka @1misscruz) wants maximum result for minimum effort.

This idea plays a part in many areas of her life, including when it comes to her skincare. Over the past few months, Elaine says her skin has never looked better and it is all thanks to No7’s new Future Renew range available at Boots.

Here we find out more.

What has been the highlight of your summer so far?

This time of year is wedding season so I’ve been #BookedBusyBlessed, but I have also managed to find some work/life balance which is an absolute win. There have been a lot of family celebrations this summer. Taking time off to spend quality time with my family has been a definite highlight too.

Recently, what have been your key skincare concerns?

My concern is having to partake in a lengthy skincare routine which I don’t always have time for. This means I am always on the lookout for minimum effort but maximum result products.

Elaine Cruz

How did you feel No7 Future Renew addressed this concern?

One of four products in the range, the No7Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum has ticked all the boxes for me. It has made my skin feel hydrated and it has improved the appearance of my skin tone, while the eye serum has made my eye area look brightened. It has fixed so many issues and has saved me from applying different products to address different concerns.

What is your favourite product in the range and why?

The No7 Future Renew Serum is the show stopper for me. The texture is unlike anything I’ve used before. It has more of a gel like texture, and is super lightweight. It leaves no sticky residue and my foundation glides over my skin.

Historically, what was the biggest ‘skincare sin’ you committed?

Not using SPF. As a melanated child of the 1980s I didn’t even know I was supposed to wear it!

Elaine Cruz

How has the Future Renew range helped with this?

The No7 Future Renew Day Cream with SPF 40 means I have one less thing to think about. My overall skin tone appears much more even and it has reduced the appearance of wrinkles too. However, it’s also important to note that you need to use normal sun protection products too rather than just a reliance on SPF in your skincare regime.

Do you have a morning/evening ritual? If so, what is it and does skincare play a part?

My skincare routine is one of very few structures I have in my day. My morning usually starts with a coffee and a quick scroll on my social media apps while I do my skincare. In the evening I like to enjoy chamomile tea, do my skincare, listen to a chilled out playlist and take a few deep breaths after a long day.

Are there any lessons in skincare the No7 Future Renew range has helped you realise?

I’m a big believer in self compassion, being gentle and kind to myself and not dwelling too much on the past. Worrying about life’s ‘what ifs’ rarely helps, so I feel with this product range I have  extended the same grace to my skin.
