When it comes to making the headlines, the Kardashians are past masters.
From Kendall Jenner’s bizarre methods of slicing up a cucumber to Kourtney’s seemingly never-ending nuptials, it seems as though the Kardashian/Jenner clan are never off our radar.
The latest instalment of Kardashian-generated hysteria comes in the form of Kim’s tongue-in-cheek revelation that she would quite literally eat poop every day if it made her look younger.
Prompting conversation around a seemingly universal resistance to growing older and a round of applause of PR at its finest, this New York Times comment coincides nicely with the upcoming release of her new skincare line, SKKN by Kim.
Set to be released to the public on Tuesday, 21 June, SKKN by Kim sees the beauty mogul bottle some top tips and insider secrets she’s learned from “top facialists or chemists or dermatologists” over the years and bring them to the people.
Believing that “beauty really starts with skin”, Kim Kardashian wants SKKN to be a solution-based brand that will elevate her customers’ skin to new heights.
Working with her favourite facialist to formulate a range of products that are better than anything she’s ever used before, Kim wanted to bring her regime to the masses, so she’s launching with a nine-step routine that covers all the bases.
From the cleanser, toner and exfoliator to the hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C serum and eye cream, the SKKN by Kim range also includes a general face cream, oil drops and night oil. All products are refillable and reusable, vegan and cruelty-free, all but one of the products are fragrance free.
“I’ve always been about building confidence for other people and wanting people to feel confident and their best … I felt like it was time for a rebirth and a rebranding while staying true to what the Kim brand is.”
Back in July 2021, Kim K took to Instagram to announce that KKW Beauty would be closing up shop after four years in business to focus on “new formulas that are more modern, innovative, and packaged in an elevated and new sustainable look.”
Described by Alure as a “prestige line [that’s] priced accordingly,” if you’re to go all out and purchase the nine-step skincare regime in full, as it was intended, it will set you back $673, which works out at roughly €625.
While Kim K is letting the world in on her top beauty secrets, whether or not these products will give all who purchase Kardashian-grade skin is yet to be seen. But hey, opting for a nine-step skincare regime certainly sounds more appealing than the concept of eating poop every day.
