Niamh De Brún-Reid: A week in my wardrobe

Niamh De Brún-Reid: A week in my wardrobe

by Sarah Finnan
12th Feb 2025

Originally from Limerick, Niamh De Brún-Reid is used to being busy juggling a full-time corporate career with motherhood and content creation. Her outfits are a reflection of her love of fashion and more often than not, you’ll see her sporting bold colours, dramatic silhouettes or a combination of both. Below, she shares a week in her wardrobe.

As a lifestyle creator, I cherish the moments of self-expression that come when I’m away from the corporate grind. Join me as I take you through a week in my wardrobe during my annual leave — a time dedicated to family, and enjoying your hobbies and interests. Each outfit reflects not only the day’s activities but also my desire to embrace creativity while I step away from the office. From glamorous outings to more casual outings, discover how I blend fashion with the freedom of time off, celebrating the joy of dressing for life beyond the 9 to 5.

MONDAY

I like to take the Monday of annual leave to organise myself for the week ahead to make the most of it. Starting with an outfit that reflects both comfort and style. I’m wearing an animal jacquard longline knit from Zara, paired with high-waisted leather leggings from Freddy Jeans that provide both style and practicality. To complete the look, I slipped on my chunky loafers from ASOS Design. The agenda is busy as I spend the day with my toddler, Harper. I organise the house, prep Harper’s clothes and things for the week and we head to the supermarket and recycling bank. After managing the food shop, I take a moment to tidy up the space, creating a calm atmosphere.

TUESDAY

Tuesday saw us exploring Dublin’s interior design scene. This outfit was perfect for a day of browsing showrooms: a versatile H&M beige marl knit jumper layered over a white-shirred puff-sleeve dress (a Depop find!), teamed with my trusty Bronx western cow leather high boots. My Louis Vuitton bag carried all the essentials, while Ray Ban sunglasses were more for style than anything as it was a mild but grey day! With home renovations still underway after our late 2023 project, this family trip was all about looking for the perfect finishing touches for our home.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday, my daughter and I hit the road for Limerick to meet my sisters and mum for lunch. I opted for a soft knit beige midaxi dress from Pretty Lavish. The dress, while very simple, is effortlessly chic and comfortable, making it perfect for a girl’s day out. I paired it with my favourite heeled brown soft suede boots, a treasure I discovered in a vintage boutique.

THURSDAY

Thursday, I’m sporting a pair of mom jeans from Zara paired with a quality white T-shirt from COS that gives a clean, classic look. I’ve paired it with a faux suede bomber jacket from Zara, which not only elevates the look but also provides a cosy layer. Completing the outfit are my adidas SL 72 OG trainers for comfort while exploring various seasonal soft furnishings for my home. This look allows me to move freely throughout the day, all while feeling effortlessly stylish.

FRIDAY

On Friday, we are attending a wedding and I’m wearing a two-tone dress I worked on with the talented Sachin Lama Design. The vibrant gold pocketed element of the dress drops beautifully to ankle length. I had a black broad-brim hat crafted by Mairead Traynor at Millinery by Mairead, featuring a deep crown and luxurious velvet piping that adds a refined touch to my outfit. To tie the look together, I chose a pair of gold toe-cap shoes from ASOS Design. Weddings are such fun and a great opportunity to showcase your creativity style-wise.

SATURDAY

Saturday calls for a girls’ night out! I love catching up with friends. I’m wearing a chic monochromatic look: burgundy wool shorts from ASOS Design and a high-necked bodysuit from Bershka create a sophisticated but playful vibe. My burgundy clutch from River Island keeps the colour scheme consistent, while leopard-print heels add a touch of unexpected fun. Spending quality time with my friends is incredibly important to me; it’s a vital part of maintaining balance and connection in my life.

SUNDAY

Sundays are spent with the family. My husband, daughter and I like to go for a leisurely lunch in the nearby Mount Juliet Estate. I embrace the cosy elegance of my wardrobe. Wrapped in a luxurious wool coat from Max Mara, underneath, I layer a soft cable knit sweater from Zara, paired effortlessly with an oversized collar shirt featuring striking gold buttons by the talented Irish designer Shauna Courtney. I pair the outfit with my mahogany leather Regina flat knee-high boots from the FairFax and Favor brand, available in Red Mills country and living store in Kilkenny. My brown leather Mulberry Bayswater bag and black leather gloves I stole from my mum’s wardrobe finish the outfit and add a touch of timeless sophistication to the look.
