Real Weddings: Chloe and Peter’s lakeside wedding in Co Down

As a bridal consultant, Chloe had the inside scoop on a highly underrated, inclusive bridalwear brand, Studio Levana, claiming one of their gorgeous pieces as "the dress". And don't even get us started on the cake... we're still fawning over it!

THE COUPLE
Chloe, senior bridal consultant, and Peter, digital banking advisor.

THEY LIVE
in Ballyclare, Co Antrim.

THE VENUE
Orange Tree House, Greyabbey, Co Down.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Sam Wolsey.

THEY MET
Shopping in a local supermarket.

THE PROPOSAL
Peter proposed at our home. It was supposed to be in Belfast at a restaurant but he got stuck in traffic, so when he finally arrived home we had missed our reservation, and he was too nervous to wait until we were in Belfast. I was totally taken by surprise! It was very personal and intimate.

THE WEDDING ATTIRE
Peter wore a suit from Red Groomswear and I wore a custom Saar by Studio Levana dress from Curvy Chic Bridal in Belfast. I really wanted a gown with structure and support that would make me feel beautiful and confident – and that’s exactly what I found!

I also wanted to feel 100% like myself on my special day, so I loved that Curvy Chic Bridal could customize the dress any way I wanted and that they came back with suggestions. It showed a real interest in what I was trying to achieve and that they wanted my dress to be just right as much as I did.

THE CEREMONY & RECEPTION
We had our ceremony and reception at the fabulous Orange Tree House in Greyabbey, Co Down. The talented Sally and Ian McBride from Salvation Army performed, also featuring harpist and soprano Catherine Hamilton. Then later on, we had Dj Ni play some tunes for the dancefloor.

THE DECOR
All the lovely decor was provided by Fairy Tales Wedding & Events.

THEIR TOP TIPS
Don’t aim for perfection because it won’t happen. However, the day will be perfectly imperfect in the best way. I know how stressful planning a wedding can be, but the moment you are beside your partner you will realise on this day, the only thing that matters is getting to marry the one you love. Just be in the moment!

THEY WISH THEY HAD
Not let the little things stress us out leading up to that special day. Don’t worry so much about getting a mark on the dresses or suits as it will happen, and you won’t honestly care.

THEIR BEST MOMENTS
I loved sitting outside in the evening with my friends and family around a firepit. Just having a chat and general laugh, it was very relaxed.

THE FIRST DANCE SONG
We had a last dance instead. It was private, just us at the end of the night, and the song was, I Get To Love You by Ruelle. It was a lovely way to end the night and take everything in

THE CREW

Event planner: Fairy Tales Wedding & Event Specialists. Florist: Blooming EventsCake: Artistic Cake Creations. Food: All provided by Orange Tree House. Videographer: Wheatfield Films.
