Midi skirts are a great addition to any wardrobe as they’re chic, versatile and extremely wearable; pair them with sandals in summer, heels on a night out or tights and boots when the weather gets colder. However you wear yours, you’re guaranteed to look like you made an effort.
A popular skirt length in the 1940s, midi skirts entered mainstream fashion in the 1970s with thanks to style icons such as Bonnie & Clyde‘s Faye Dunaway. Two decades later and it had another resurgence when the 90s made low rise and Steve Madden slip-ons a thing. Carrie Bradshaw donned various tulle versions throughout Sex and the City, and now in 2023, the trend continues to be a staple with silk reigning supreme.
Flattering on all body shapes and sizes, keep it simple with block colours, such as black, hot pink or mint, or mix things up and choose one with a funky pattern – the choice is yours and the outfits are endless.
