Sinead Corcoran: A week in my wardrobe

Sinead Corcoran: A week in my wardrobe

Owner of The One boutique in Rathmines, Sinead Corcoran has always had an eye for fashion – thanks in no small part to a styling course she did a couple of years ago to learn the tricks of the trade. Partial to neutrals and pairing investment pieces with more budget options, her style is chic, and polished while still being comfortable. Take a look inside a week in her wardrobe.

MONDAY

I dedicate Mondays to catching up on admin from the weekend and to getting organised for the week ahead. I am usually at The One and choose to wear something comfortable yet presentable. Today I am wearing a white T-shirt from COS, Black straight-leg jeans from Dr.Denim and an oversized neutral blazer from ROHE at Beautiful South with large shoulder pad. I love anything with a shoulder pad!  I think it gives great structure and looks very chic. My pumps are from Marks & Spencer. To this outfit, I have added a printed neck scarf – I have always loved wearing these. I think this one adds some interest to the outfit and for me, brings it together.

TUESDAY

I usually see brides on a Tuesday for appointments at The One and could also be in town for meetings so again, I tend to wear something comfortable, light and easy to wear. Black to me is very chic and I feel my best wearing neutral tones. This maxi skirt is from H&M and I have paired it with this shirt from &Other Stories. My slip-on heels are Primark and my bag is from Somas, a gorgeous Irish brand.

WEDNESDAY

Today I have lots of meetings so aI m a little bit more dressy. This skirt is one I wear a lot, it’s from Sinead Keary The Label. My cardi is also from Sinead Keary, I adore the asymmetric and button detailing in this. I always look out for small details in a piece of clothing, it can really elevate an outfit in my opinion. My blazer is from ROHE and my scarf is Burberry. This scarf was an investment piece for my wardrobe this year. It’s timeless and classic and fits into my everyday life. It’s also reversible so I can wear the alternative colour way, depending on what I’m wearing. My boots are from Russell & Bromley. The low heel is perfect for on-the-go and the soft leather is very comfortable. My bag is from H&M.

THURSDAY

Another day, another neutral! This blazer, as you can see ,works overtime in my wardrobe and is so versatile. I do believe in investing in a piece every now and then that will seamlessly fit into your everyday and that you can mix and match with affordable pieces. I invested in this blazer a few years ago and at the time I thought – am I mad spending on a blazer?! Way back when on my styling course, my mentor told me that a coat is the first piece of clothing someone will see on you and that it shouldn’t be an afterthought. That stuck with me and since then, a coat is my most considered piece. Today I’m wearing the blazer with a Primark shirt, H&M trousers and a brooch from COS. I think the brooch adds a little bit of interest to this outfit. My boots are from Massimo Dutti and my bag is the same Somas one (another piece I wear on repeat as you can see!).

FRIDAY

I don’t have a lot of T-shirts in my wardrobe but I love this one from Adonola. It feels nice and structured yet still soft. My skirt is from Zara. I have had it a few years and seldom wear it but it’s one that I always love wearing whenever I pull it out. Pleated skirts can sometimes feel a little boxy on me but as this one has a slit and buckle detailing, it feels a little more edgy.  My shoes are Primark and as soon as I saw them I thought they looked very Prada! My bag is from Zara. I love the chunky chain detail of this one.

SATURDAY

I have a day of styling at The One and I need to wear something comfortable yet stylish! This skirt is a favourite in my wardrobe. It’s from &Other Stories. The asymmetric detail with pleating creates interest and draws the eye down which elongates the torso and makes a 5ft 4 gal look a little taller! There’s my styling chat coming through! My shirt is Massimo Dutti and the gold cuff is from Primark. My shoes are from Marks & Spencer. I love the added cream band on these shoes, again just that little detail adding a bit of interest to the outfit.

SUNDAY

…and chill! We have a family day on Sundays and I like to wear something comfortable. These jeans are from COS. The turned-up detail at the end caught my eye in-store and the fabric is very flexible so perfect for running after a toddler! My boots, cardi and T-shirt are all Primark. The t-shirt in particular is part of the Primark Edit Collection and I have a few of these in different colour ways. The fabric is like butter!
