Small but mighty: Handbags just big enough to fit your phone, sanitiser and mask

You’ve heard the phrase “it’s not a purse, it’s a satchel”. Well, I’m here to tell you that it IS a purse, and Harry Styles has one.

Small but mighty: Handbags just big enough to fit your phone, sanitiser and mask

Harry Styles made our hearts throb yet again this week, turning us all slightly green with envy at the sight of him and his Gucci purse. Appearing in the fashion house’s latest campaign, the former One Direction star can be seen sporting a giant faux fur coat, 70s style wide-leg jeans, and a colourful printed blouse. Truth be told though, it’s the black Jackie bag he has beside him that really steals the show.

Pictured alongside James Corden, the resulting photos certainly do as intended and I’ve been unable to think of anything else all week. Making me want to rush right out and purchase the leather bag immediately, the only thing stopping me from doing so is the price tag (a brand-new version will set you back close to two grand).

Everyone knows that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery though, so while copying Styles’ look exactly as is may prove difficult, we’ll definitely be channeling him with all outfit and accessory choices going forward… as if we haven’t been doing that all along. I have yet to source a green feather boa but just you wait.

Harry’s Gucci handbag moment got us thinking about our own post-lockdown purses.

Fashionable as they are, I’m of the opinion that bigger vessels only encourage you to carry around more things you don’t need. So, by that reasoning – if the bag is small then you won’t have room to bring anything but the essentials.

Here are some of our current fashion favourites, ones that are just big enough to fit your phone, keys, hand sanitiser, and mask. Anything else you can fit in is a bonus, though probably unnecessary.
