A multi-hyphenate creative working across art direction, production design, styling and modelling, Ben Harte is fast becoming one of Ireland’s leading tastemakers. Here, we get an exclusive glimpse into his enviable wardrobe.
I grew up in Navan in Co. Meath, which isn’t exactly the fashion capital of the world. Whenever I moved to Dublin I’ve moved through an array of styles, some quite questionable. I’d say my style would nod towards gorp core focusing on sporty utilitarian wear, knit wear and neutral tones. My wardrobe is just a selection of browns, beiges, khaki greens and oranges. A lot of my clothes are a baggy fit, although I like to take this traditionally masculine style and add a flair of femininity. I’ll do this by switching up the silhouette by adding a cropped tee or a fitted unisex item into my outfit!
Adidas skateboarding adimatics.
I only looove a workwear jacket. I feel if I’m spending money on a jacket, I want it to be thick, long-lasting material so I always find myself gravitating towards the workwear section. I recently got a Jameson x Dickies forest green workwear jacket which has the perfect balance of being lightweight and durable.
Kickers jeans are the best fit for me! I’ve long legs which are difficult to pair with my waist size, so I find they’re the most longline!
Aran knitwear!
Annie Quinn is a lady who hand makes jewellery in Co. Donegal who I met at the RDS Irish Design trade show this year. She has been making Irish celtic designs for years now and has a collection of Irish sporting equipment and Irish music instruments. I have an Irish concertina from her that I haven’t taken off since I’ve gotten it!
I don’t wear handbags but I’ve a Chrome Bag mini messenger which is glued to my back at all times.
My favourite hoodie probably? Especially if it’s a Sunday spent hungover.
Just a pair of boxers and buckle in for the best sleep of your life.
A good aftershave… and bring it with you for when the dancefloor gets sweaty.
My dad’s cream and navy striped crew neck jumper. I borrowed it when I was like 15 and still haven’t given it back.
A claddagh ring.
Nine Crows Thrift Shop – It has some great gems, once you’re comfortable with rooting through everything. Very reasonably priced as nothing is over €30 and they’ve four big bargain bins of €2 and €5 items!
