Stylist’s Eye: Fiona Doyle shares a few of her favourite things
A Limerick-based personal stylist and image consultant, Fiona Doyle shares a few of her favourite things.
I recently bought a faux leather biker jacket from Mango – an incredibly versatile and transitional piece. It adds an edge to any outfit while being practical enough to wear across different seasons.
I picked up a pair of black satin combat trousers from Rita Ora’s Penneys collection in November 2023. Not only were they an absolute steal, they have proven to be a fantastic transitional piece. The satin gives them a touch of elegance, while the combat style keeps them versatile and practical.
I love to collect art, especially from my favourite travel destinations that capture those places. While some pieces may not be particularly expensive, they sit together as a small gallery on a wall in the kitchen and are filled with great memories. I also have a Clare Hartigan piece that I love – it was a wedding gift from her sister.
My wackiest recent purchase was a bluetooth ice bucket speaker. It’s the perfect mix of fun and functionality, keeping drinks cool while adding some music to the party. It has become a great conversation piece at gatherings!
I adore cashmere and really want to purchase a jumper this year. As well as being timeless, it is a perfect blend of luxury and practicality. It’s not only incredibly soft, warm and comfortable but also versatile enough to be a staple in your wardrobe for years.
I keep coming back to Good Vibes, Good Life by Vex King. It is a powerful and uplifting book that delves into the impact of positive thinking on personal growth and happiness. Vex King offers practical strategies for transforming your mindset and embracing a more positive outlook. I always leave it by my bedside.
Nature constantly fascinates me. The endless variety of hues are a constant source of inspiration for me especially when combining outfits and when I need some colour inspiration.
To me, self-care is about taking personal time for “me” to unwind. Whether it’s going for a long walk, enjoying a coffee, or browsing shops to explore the latest trends, these activities help me relax, escape and unwind.
My favourite skincare brand is Clarins, I especially love the double serum, which is made up of 95% naturally sourced ingredients. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my skin’s hydration.
By my bed, there is hand cream, a book (at the moment I’m reading Limitless by Nuala Moore), a Rituals sleep mist spray and lavender oil.
A handheld steamer has been a game changer. It’s so convenient, quick, and easy to use, making it an essential tool for keeping clothes wrinkle-free without the hassle of ironing.
I never leave the house without sunglasses and lip gloss – POCO’s lightweight lip glazes are my go-to at the moment.
I always accessorise with earrings. I love Angela Darcy jewellery, I came across her during lockdown at a market in Herbert Park in Dublin, and I have lots of her colourful earrings. My other favourite is Soru.
I love candles – they indulge the senses and create a cosy atmosphere, especially Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir or It’s Definitely Cloves and Cinnamon by Max Benjamin around the festive season.
My best house purchase has to be a Buschbeck outdoor barbecue we bought during lockdown. It really completes our garden, creating a warm, Mediterranean atmosphere all year round.
I regret not buying a vintage record player when I had the opportunity a few years ago. There’s something nostalgic and charming about listening to music the old-fashioned way.
I love to spend time on the Kerry coast with my family. There’s something about being by the sea that helps me unwind and completely relax. I love the natural beauty of the coastline.
I trained as a pilates teacher a few years ago and still do it at home regularly, it really helps me destress and strengthen my body.
Since I was a teenager, I’ve always loved The Cranberries. There’s something nostalgic about their songs that takes me back and brings a sense of comfort. Their music has a timeless quality that resonates with me, no matter how many times I hear it.
I love to visit Italy, especially the coast and Tuscany. The food, wine, sunsets, and beautiful beaches, as well as the fashion! I spent a few days in Milan too, training to be a personal stylist and fell in love with the city and the style.
In 2025, I’ll complete my year as President of Network Ireland Branch and I’m excited to host the President’s Dinner, which will be a special moment to celebrate the journey and the accomplishments we have made as a network.
