Tara O’Farrell on how she keeps her skin looking fresh as a working mum of two

Between working as a make-up artist and content creator, and raising her two sons, Tara O’Farrell’s moments of rest and relaxation are few and far between. Here, she shares her secrets to maintaining that youthful, well-rested glow…

When balancing a busy working life and a hectic family schedule, finding some ‘you’ time can be exceptionally difficult. However, whether it’s carving out an evening a week for some well-warranted pampering or allowing yourself the daily luxury of nourishing your skin, making time for self-love is a true necessity.

When Tara O’Farrell does find a spare moment to look after her skin, she only has time for products with ingredients that can guarantee results. So, with that in mind, we caught up with the experienced beauty professional, to hear about some of her go-to products from No7’s Future Renew range.

Tara O'Farrell

What has been the highlight of your summer so far? Tell us a little about that.

This summer has been hectic, to say the least, but I was most excited about our trip to Portugal. It’s my favourite place in the world, and I’ve been coming every year since I was little, so it’s a home from home.

Recently, what have been your key skincare concerns?

I have been really looking after my skin even more than usual as I am a bridesmaid for my friend’s wedding in August and I want it to be perfect. When choosing skincare, I always look for something that gives my skin a gorgeous glow and a boost of hydration. Being a mum of two, I feel like my skin can sometimes look as tired as I feel.

How did you feel No7 Future Renew addressed these?

Actually, both my mum and I started to use the products around the same time and we have both been so impressed. We both agree that we would definitely buy it again — especially when the 3 for 2 offer is on. I am really happy with how my skin looks at the moment.

After one month, what sort of differences did you feel/see?

One big thing I noticed was how soft my skin felt to the touch; it really improved the texture.

Do you have a particular favourite product in the range and why?

That’s a tough one, as I like different things about each of them, but probably the No7 Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum.

Historically, what was the biggest ‘skincare sin’ you committed?

As I had severe acne at a young age, I started looking after my skin around the age of 15. But that said, I really regret not wearing a high SPF every day until I was older, now I would never leave the house without my SPF on.

How has the No7 Future Renew range helped with this?

I love that the No7 Future Renew Day Cream contains SPF 40, one less thing to think about in my morning routine and one step less in my routine.

Do you have a morning/evening ritual? If so, what is it and does skincare play a part?

The first thing that I do for myself in the day is always clean my skin, I literally couldn’t go downstairs until I clean my face. After I do this, I’ll do my skincare. At nighttime, as soon as I get the boys to bed, I take off my makeup and do my nighttime routine. As much as I love putting makeup on, I always love taking it off. I’m a big fan of a skin tool too, so if I’m chilling for the evening I might do a little treatment.
