The best new beauty buys in September

Ready to give your beauty routine a new season refresh? From Glossier's long anticipated foundation to cozy candles and autumnal scents, here’s the best of what September has to offer in beauty launches.

Irish perfumer Cloon Keen wants to transport you back in time to a medieval monastery with the new Cloon Keen Armarius Candle, €45. A tribute to an Irish monastic scriptorium, Armarius invokes sensorial multitudes of this moment in the past; “the olfactory imprint permeating the silent monastery walls, where illuminated tight-stretched vellum adorned with intricately knotted strokes of birds, beasts, and serpent’s tails.” A smoky haze of incense dispersed with rich amber, clary sage, eucalyptus, thyme, tonka and cedarwood, this is the candle to bring autumn into your home.

Charlotte Tilbury’s iconic Magic Cream has a new iteration; Magic Water Cream, €95, a dewy, glass-skin twist on the beloved original formula. We are generation dehydration, according to Charlotte, who always says it best, and so she created a new incarnation, with niacinamide and a hydrating blend of skin heroes for a water-enhanced, skin-quenching gel-cream with Magic Cream’s signature model skin effect. Or as she puts it, and she really does always put it best; “I call it the magic water fountain of youth and luminosity in a jar!” (“Darlings.”)

At last, Glossier foundation. With the glossy finish of Skin Tint and the skin-that-looks-like-skin coverage of Stretch Concealer, Glossier Stretch Fluid Foundation, €38, couldn’t have been more anticipated. Lightweight, hydrating and 89% skincare-based, the gel-cream foundation has a 12 hour wear, buildable coverage and 32 shades.

Ready to swap your scent for autumn? Tom Ford Private Blend Myrrhe Mystère, 50ml, €330, is sultry and mesmerising myrrh blended with vanilla for a rich and seductive olfactory seasonal switch-up, coming September 18.

CurlyCo’s latest addition the curl-care range is the Silk Turban, €49.99, a mulberry silk hair protector to keep your curls untangled, undamaged and shiny while you sleep, so you can stop waking up to a bed head.

Inspired by European clubs and hookah lounges, Killian Paris Smoking Hot, 50ml, €245, is a smoky blend of highest quality bourbon vanilla, rare Kentucky tobacco and an apple and cinnamon shisha twang for a caramalised, hazy scent.

Irish sustainable skincare brand Jo Browne has picked up no less than seven awards at the Global Green Beauty Awards, including two Gold Awards for Jo Browne Natural Facial Cleansing Balm, €34, and Jo Browne Daily Hydrating Moisturiser, €48. If you’re looking to replenish your skincare routine in line with Sustainable September, look no further.

Maison Margiela’s Replica fragrance collection is designed to recreate a moment in time, so Autumn Vibes, 100ml, €125, is suitably created to invoke “an invigorating walk along a forest’s rusty-coloured autumn foliage, a moment of escape and contemplation in the shadows of trees. Quiet, almost meditative — dried leaves tumbling down, rustling under your footsteps,” with cedarwood, moss, pink pepper and nutmeg to add to the woody, mossy perfect autumn scent.

Massage YSL Pure Shots Clean Reboot Cleanser, €40, into the skin with wet fingertips for a soap-to-foam formula with amino acids and glycerin that leaves skin soothed and clean while protecting its natural barrier.

If you love the dewy skin of a cream blush, Urban Decay Hydromaniac Blusher, €28, in six suits-all vibrant, highly pigmented shades melt into the skin for a flush of lightweight gleaming glow with just a touch.

Living Proof, purveyors of hard-working hair miracles, have three new silicone-free Full Stylers with heat protection that need your attention if you’re interested in thickness, texture, and volume. First, the Full Volume & Root-Lifting Spray, €30, for big, bouffant volume that holds all day, next, the Full Texturizing Foam, €30, for big beachy texture for fine hair, and finally the Full Thickening Blow-Dry Cream, €30, a styling cream that delivers fuller, thicker looking hair while you dry.

The Kiehl’s Oil-Free Super Multi-Corrective Soft Cream, €79, is the latest addition to the Multi-Corrective family, a supercharged gel moisturizer, that addresses seven signs of ageing for oily and combination skin, leaving skin glowy, smooth and firmer.

Armani have created new shades of the lightweight liquid eyeshadow Eye Tint, €34, in nude mattes for a no make-up make-up finish that lasts all day.
