The monthly must-have: Andrew Fitzsimons haircare

Andrew Fitzsimons, arguably Ireland's most successful hairdresser, has launched an incredible 26 product haircare brand.

There are always new product launches, it sometimes seems outrageous at the amount of newness that is being launched into the beauty market. How can we keep up with all the new products? And a lot of the time the ‘new’ products are revised versions of what was available before with new science added or new shades. But then sometimes a new range is launched, and it hits the sweet spot, hard.

Last week Andrew Fitzsimons, arguably Ireland’s most successful hairdresser, launched a new haircare brand. Andrew has created some major looks on some of the world’s most famous faces ranging, from the whole of the Kardashian clan to Madonna with a little bit of Mariah Carey thrown in. Andrew knows hair, having started working in salons at the tender age of 13 and he hasn’t looked back. He has worked all over the world living in Paris, New York and now LA. His looks have graced magazine covers all around the globe and he has created looks for pretty much every red carpet that we all swoon over. Basically, he is a rockstar of hair!

When I saw the campaign images for his haircare brand, I fell in love immediately. It is not often that you see a proper relatable person as one of the main models in a beauty campaign. Well, Andrew has turned that on its head and put girls of all shapes, sizes and skin tones front and centre. It is one of the most inclusive beauty campaigns that I have ever seen, and it is not just the token girl in the background. These beauts of girls are photographed on their own, with the most incredible 80’s inspired makeup, sexy wind-blown hair and body on full view, fat rolls and double chins being celebrated. And the hair is being blown by the wind, not your normal hair campaign with no hairs out of place. These images are alive and full of joy and energy.

There are 26 products in the range and you will find the perfect product for you within the range no matter what texture hair you have. There are four categories in the haircare range: Virgin Repair, Fantasy Curls (for 3A – 4C curl types), Body Volume, Prism Shine and Amethyst Blonde. There is a shampoo & conditioner in each range and specific masks, oils/serums and sprays, and of course, there are mega styling products that can be used with all four ranges. The dry shampoo has already sold out online at Boots but will be restocked soon. The scent of the products is amazing, like expensive perfume levels of good.

Most importantly they work. They do exactly what they say they will do. I bought Prism Shine Invisible Shine Spray which is infused with hyaluronic acid and it’s spectacular, not oily at all, it just adds a perfect gloss to your hair. I also got Après Sexe Texture Spray, which is a genius of a product that adds texture but doesn’t make hair crispy and tacky like many other texture sprays. I also got the Body Volume Blowdry Hold Spray, the perfect addition to a voluminous blowdry that’s brushable and workable after you spray it.

The range is exclusive to Boots and ranges in price from €7.99 to €14.99, proving that you don’t have to spend megabucks to get great products. I can’t wait to try the rest of the range for work and of course at home!

Shop the full Andrew Fitzsimons range exclusively at Boots.
