Ready to wear eyeshadow again? Instagram is setting the tone, with eye-popping electric bright shades spotted en masse, perfected by Gigi Hadid and Yara Shahidi.
Not brave enough for bold colour? Match it with fresh skin and make it a small detail rather than a full eye look, like Gigi Hadid, whose acid bright orange eyeliner was drawn on the inner corner of the eye in a ‘V’ shape by make-up artist Patrick Ta.
As we emerge from a long spell of ignoring brightly-coloured cosmetics, new eyeshadows are beginning to reappear in force. Try bold shades like Gigi with Urban Decay’s powerfully pigmented Wild West Palette, the new cream eyeshadows from Violette and Up Cosmetics or go slightly softer with the MAC x Harris Reed Palette. If you’d like to try out colour without the electric brightness, look to the new Nars Quad Eyeshadow inspired by their best-selling blush Orgasm, the soft pinks in the new Les Beiges summer palette from Chanel or the shimmering pearls in Bobbi Brown’s Glowing Pink Luxe Quad.
If all you’re interested in wearing this time of year is a burnishing bronze gold, you’re extremely well off for choices, with Tom Ford’s rich and smoky Desert Fox palette, Glossier’s new liquid gold Lidstar eyeshadows and, in big beauty news, the launch of two new shades of Charlotte Tilbury’s permanently sold-out liquid Eyes to Mesmerise, coming this July in her best-selling shades Pillow Talk and Walk of No Shame.
