The IMAGE staffers are opening up their makeup bags and sharing their go-to lip combos, along with some lip treatments, balms and Irish brands that they’re loving lately.

Ciara Cosgrove, Event & Partnerships Director

I am currently loving Irish brand Hildun Beauty. The best combo is the Silk to Set Longwear Lip Pencil in shade Darcy followed by Melting Moisture Lip Balm (more like a lipstick) in Rose Glow.

Sarah Finnan, Deputy Editor, IMAGE.ie

I’m a fiend for a good lip oil lately and have many in my toolbox depending on the occasion – from a Dior one to another by BPerfect and a gorgeous pinky option from Poco Beauty. On no-makeup days, I just slather on some Universal Glow Treatment and a slick of lip oil which is enough to make me feel put together while still letting my skin breathe. I also live and die by the Pillow Talk lipliner and lipstick combo from Charlotte Tilbury… simply perfect, darling!

Emily O’Neill, Marketing Account Executive

Since Hildun Beauty launched their lip collection last October, I have worn nothing else. In my eyes they are the best of the best on the market. My go-to combo at the moment is the Silk To Set Longwear Lip Pencil in the shade Darcy and the Melting Moisture Lip Balm in the share Peachy Pink. It is the perfect springtime combo and adds a gorgeous pop of colour to any look.

Amber O’Shea, Social Media Manager

My go to lip combos are the following: I adore the Chili lipstick from Mac, I have it in the mini version and it’s my favourite hybrid of a nude and red combination. I love pairing it with the Mac Lipliner in shade Soar… for my neutral nude days I absolutely love my BPerfect lipstick that has a magnetic lid, I love the packaging of this and I pair it with my BPerfect lipliner. This lipstick is really hydrating and it’s always my go-to.

Lizzie Gore-Grimes, Editor-in-Chief

I’m one of those people who always has about five different lip balms of some sort rattling around my bag. I always have a mini tub of Vaseline in my car and a few emergency chapsticks dotted around the place. Recently a friend gave me the Augustinus Bader lip balm for Christmas and it is an absolute treat to use! Glides on and offers proper long-lasting hydration.

But my absolute go-to lip saviour right now is Charlotte Tilbury’s Hyaluronic Happikiss in Pillow Talk. It’s a magical lipstick/lipgloss hybrid which gives you all the hydration of a lip balm, with the punch of colour of a lipstick and a nice dewy low-key gloss finish! Perfection!

My lips are, ultimately and unfortunately, extremely dry. They always have been and it is my cross to bear. As you can imagine, the ultra matte lip kit era was a very isolating time for me, so when I crossed paths with Clinique Black Honey it was love at first application. It’s like a lip balm but it has such a gorgeous pigment to it. Pair it with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Liner in shade Cappuccino and you’ve got the perfect ‘90s brownish-burgundy lip. I’m also a fan of the Fenty Gloss Bomb Heat — it’s plumping and tingles a little, and looks good on its own or with that same liner.

Most of the time, however, I will be applying and reapplying a nourishing lip treatment, and Image Skincare’s ORMEDIC Lip Enhancement Complex is my current go-to. I’m also partial to covering my lips in whatever’s left on my fingertips after applying some Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream to my hands and elbows. Fun fact — you can mix it up with some sugar to make your own little lip scrub!

Holly O’Neill, Editor, IMAGE.ie; Beauty Editor, IMAGE Magazine

MAC Stripdown, the perfect ’90s brown nude liner, has been carried around in all my handbags and pockets since I was about 16. It hasn’t left my face in all that time either – even if I have nothing on, I have MAC Stripdown lip liner on. At the moment my current other obsession is Charlotte Tilbury’s new Love Effect lipstick in Naughty Talk – it’s Pillow Talk’s slightly sexier neutral nude.

Meghan Killalea, Marketing Account Executive

I have been a die-hard Charlotte Tilbury girl for years now, and my go to lip liner will forever be their Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk. It’s just the perfect nude lip liner and it lasts all day. I’m dying to try the new fair version of this shade as a proud member of the (extremely) pale girlies. I then go in with a lip oil, and I’ve been obsessed with Kash Beauty’s Lip Oil in Hey Honey. It’s such a beautiful, subtle shade and lasts for a surprisingly long time given that it’s a lip oil. My holy grail for soft lips though, which I use going to sleep and also on no makeup days, is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I will never stop repurchasing this!

Sophie Power, Chief Operations Officer

Basic I know, but Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tilbury is my go-to for both lipliner and lipstick for any event or dinner out. I also love my Rhode iPhone Case with its special groove for my Rhode Lip Peptide Treatment in Watermelon Slice to slot into, it is such genius marketing and a definite conversation starter!

Shayna (Sappington) Healy, Branded Content Editor and Wedding Editor

I have chronically chapped lips so I’ve tried my fair share of lip scrubs. My favourite so far is this one from Tatcha. While some scrubs can be too harsh or irritate my sensitive skin, this one uses a combination of hydrating oil and gentle micro-exfoliants to rub away dead skin. The result? Smooth and supple lips that are primed for flawless lipstick application.

Speaking of lipstick, my favourite at the moment is this tinted butter balm from Kylie Jenner’s cosmetic line (shade Angel Cake). It’s ultra-hydrating and adds a subtle pink lip for everyday wear or, for nights out, I upgrade to Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk – it wears so well I only need to touch it up once or twice throughout the evening.
