Say *IT* with your clothes
Graphic and statement tops have become a major trend this season, standing out as more than just casual wear. These tops have turned into powerful tools for personal expression, with slogans and designs that communicate beliefs, values, and social messages.
Whether they feature bold political statements, funny graphics and/or artistic images, they allow wearers to showcase their identity and stance. Paired with everything from bubble skirts to baggy trousers, these tees add a unique touch to outfits, proving that fashion can be both stylish and meaningful.
Accessories galore
Fun and cool accessories took centre stage at CPHFW adding vibrant personality and flair to the street style scene. Chunky jewellery, with its bold necklaces and oversized earrings, became a key element in transforming simple outfits into something glamorous and eye-catching. We also saw oversized scrunchies and many a-pins in hair looks. These statement pieces, often featuring unique designs and materials, brought a sense of playfulness and luxury to everyday looks. Footwear also played a crucial role in defining these standout styles with statement heels, chunky boots, platform shoes and fun trainers also making a strong appearance and adding a casual yet trendy vibe, effortlessly blending comfort with style.
Beyond jewellery and shoes, eye-catching bags, from mini styles to oversized totes, completed the ensembles, serving as both functional pieces and fashion statements. Massive sunglasses also proved to be a perfect topper for a look. These accessories showcased the power of details in elevating an outfit, proving that the right pieces can make any look not just stylish, but fun and memorable.
Red
The colour red made a striking impact at this season, emerging as one of the most dominant trends on the streets. From deep crimson to vibrant scarlet, red was seen in a variety of shades, adding a bold, confident energy to the fashion scene. This powerful colour was featured in everything from head-to-toe monochrome outfits to statement pieces like hats, hoodies and socks and accessories.
Whether in sleek, tailored silhouettes or flowing, romantic designs, red brought a sense of drama and passion to every look. Its versatility was on full display, as it was paired with both neutral tones for a chic contrast and with other bold colours for a daring, eye-catching ensemble. Red’s presence on the streets underscored its timeless appeal and its ability to command attention, making it a go-to choice for those looking to make a strong style statement.
Layering
Eclectic layering was a standout trend showcasing a playful mix-and-match approach that brought creativity and surprise to every outfit. Fashion enthusiasts combined pieces in unexpected ways, like wearing skirts over pants or layering oversized shirts over midi skirts, creating looks that were as unique as they were stylish. This trend was all about breaking the rules and experimenting with different textures, lengths, and styles to craft something fresh and original.
Sheer fabrics played a key role in this eclectic layering, adding a sense of depth and intrigue when draped over solid pieces. The sheer layers brought a delicate, airy quality to the outfits, enhancing the visual complexity and creating a dynamic interplay between transparency and opacity. Overall, eclectic layering turned the streets into a canvas for imaginative styling, where the key to success was embracing the unexpected.
Printmania
Playful prints and patterns took centre stage this season, infusing the streets with a vibrant and artistic energy. Animal prints, especially cow, zebra and leopard made a strong comeback, asserting themselves as bold statement pieces. These prints were often mixed and matched with other patterns, creating dynamic and eye-catching combinations that brought a sense of wild, untamed style to the forefront.
Alongside the animal prints, bold geometric patterns and abstract designs such as tartan or florals featured prominently, adding an artistic flair to many outfits. The use of playful prints and patterns highlighted a fearless approach to fashion, where mixing and matching different designs resulted in uniquely expressive and unforgettable looks.
All of these trends from Day 1 and Day 2 of Copenhagen Fashion Week highlight a mix of creativity, sustainability, and individuality, reflecting the city’s unique approach to fashion. Whether through bold colours, eclectic layering and fun prints, the street style stars of Copenhagen are setting the tone for us all for the rest of the year.
